The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball team won for the third time in their last four games on Tuesday to wrap up a four-game homestand, and they will look to make it four out of five when they visit Medgar Evers for an 8 PM meeting with the Cougars tonight. CSI is now 3-4 following their tremendous shooting performance against CCNY earlier this week while the Cougars enter tonight's matchup at 1-7.

Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins once again shot the ball extremely well against CCNY on Tuesday night finishing the game 30-63 from the field. It was another standout showing for Adeola Latunji as he recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to go along with another emphatic, highlight-reel finish on an alley-oop in the second half against the Beavers. The feed on the dunk came from Andrew Kartalis who also had himself another good game with 15 points, good for second on the team, on 5-10 from the field and 4-7 from beyond the arc. Austin Mick had 12, all coming on three-pointers, and was 4-8 from downtown. Chris Velasquez also continued his resurgence off the bench as he scored 16 on 5-10 shooting from three-point range. Rigaud Destime has seen his shooting percentage climb to 38% on the year and is third on the team in scoring with 9.4 points per game. Fellow starter Joseph Zieris has taken the team lead in field-goal percentage as he is now at an even 50% on the year.
Players to Watch (MEC): The Cougars have gotten 27.5 points per game by Jonathan Grimsley, but he has played in only two of their seven contests. His 38 against Clarks Summit led his team to their lone victory of the season in that matchup and the Cougars needed every one of those points as they escaped with a 94-92 win. Keison McIntosh has appeared in and started seven of the eight games for the Cougars this year averaging 16.6 per game on 39.4% shooting. He is the second of six players averaging double-figure for a Medgar Evers team that has gone with several different starting lineup combinations through their first eight games. Devin Berrios, averaging 13.6, and Marcus Lewis, averaging 10.8, are the two other players who have appeared in at least seven games that have contributed double-digit scoring averages. On the glass, Grimsley has averaged 10.5 boards in his two games second to only Mousa Sinera's 11.8.
News & Notes: The Cougars last defeated CSI in January of 2018, their only win in the last six meetings with CSI. The win in that matchup was only the second for the Cougars in the last seventeen meetings between the two teams and they haven't knocked off CSI at home since January of 2010. Medgar Evers has shot the ball fairly well thus far with a 41% mark from the floor, but they have struggled to contain the offense of their opponents who have shot over 48% against them. This bodes well for the Dolphins who have seen their shooting numbers increase to 42% from the field and 33% from beyond the arc. Based upon the season numbers for both sides, it's likely we could see a high-scoring affair tonight as the Cougars have scored just shy of 85 per game while allowing 97 and CSI has scored 68 while allowing just short of 84.
What's Next?: CSI will hit the road once again on December 14 when they face off against Pace University. The Dolphins will be looking to make it a perfect 5-0 against Pace when they meet them for the first time since 1983 next Saturday at 3 PM.
