Players to Watch (CSI): Kathleen Bridgman,
Gabriella Bartley, and
Sabella Vaserman are the three top scorers for the women, each with at least 89 total points on the season. Bridgman and Bartley are each tied with six first-place finishes while Vaserman has four to go along with 8 second-place finishes which is tied for the team lead. Her sixteen total medals lead the team with Bridgman close behind having fifteen.
Lisnette Solano and
Jen Basini each have five top finishes on the season with Solano scoring her points from in the pool while Basini has scored from the diving board.
Cecelia Mauro and
Melissa Poggioli have been among the top point-getters on the team as they have each finished second eight times helping them earn 13 medals each, a total that trails only Vaserman and Bridgman. On the men's side,
Michael Stora leads the Dolphins in points by a considerable margin with 148.25 on the season. His thirteen first-place finishes is also tops on the team and they account for a large portion of his eighteen total medals.
Peter Carle and Michael Blacharksi have also been major contributors as they have each scored over 106 points and earned a combined 15 gold medals, Carle with seven and Blacharksi with eight. However, it is
Xavier Nicholson who is second to Stora's fifteen gold medals with ten of his own, all earned from the diving board.
Chris Ivanov is fifth on the team in total points and is also tied for third in total medals with Blacharski at thirteen.
Players to Watch (BC): The Brooklyn women enter tonight's meet with a very experienced roster than includes five seniors while the men come in with a roster that includes only a single senior. However, this did not prevent the men from coming within one point of a tie in last year's meet when the Dolphins held on to defeat the men of Brooklyn 108-107. Omar Hasan-Hafez was a major factor in the meet for the Bulldogs and nearly led his team to the victory with his pair of first-place finishes and a second-place finish. On the women's side, it was a strong performance for Emily Yang who took the top spot in every event she competed in for Brooklyn made even more impressive by the fact that she was a freshman last season. Brooklyn will undoubtedly be leaning heavily on her once again this year as they will need to be over 40 points better than they were in 2019 to come away with the win tonight.
Players to Watch (JJC): The last meet between the Dolphins and Bloodhounds was decided by only 16 points, but the Bloodhounds do not return a single swimmer who took first place in an event during that meet. The ten-swimmer roster consists of five freshmen and four sophomores with only a single senior.
What's Next?: The Dolphins only have one meet remaining on the schedule ahead of the Metropolitan Swimming Championships which will take place this Saturday at noon against Adelphi University.
