Kristina Arvelo to be a factor from the outside, as she leads CSI with 15 three-pointers.
Players to Watch (JJC):   The Bloodhounds are averaging 76 points per game, guided by five players averaging in double figures. The leader is Katie Healy who is posting 19 points per game adding 10.3 rebounds per contest, making her a threat everywhere on the floor. All'aha Albright is certainly a distance threat, as she is averaging 17.0 points per game steadied by 33 three-pointers in 133 attempts, good for 39% from beyond the arc. Lily Rakitzis is averaging 15.6 per game, while Nyasha Howard has been a force, posting 14.4 points per game and a team-best 11.2 rebounds per game and 56 assists. Jessica Gorman has been a big x-factor coming off of the bench, posting 12 three-pointers this season, good for second on the team.Â
News & Notes:  These two teams have been meeting since 1981, and it has been a series dominated by the Dolphins. CSi has won the last 15 games, and own an overall 48-15 advantage in the series. The Dolphins have has a better time at home against the Bloodhounds but they do boast a very admirable 18-10 overall record at The Doghouse and have won six in a row at John Jay since 2014. John Jay's last win against CSI came on January 16, 2013, a 67-64 affair in Manhattan. It's been a season of swings so far for the Bloodhounds, as they have followed by three-straight losses with three-straight wins over Lehman College, CCNY, and Rosemont College by a combined 90 points. Those victories all occurred on the road, as today will mark only the fourth home contest for the Bloodhounds, who are 1-2 on their home court. For the Dolphins, they started the season 0-6, but have rebounded nicely in time to win three of their last four games. The only loss in that stretch was to future ECC-opponent Molloy College. The teams share a win over CCNY, as John Jay defeated the Beavers, 111-68, while CSI won their matchup with CCNY, 96-51. CSI has struggled on the road, as they sit at 1-4 this season.
What's Next?: The CSI women will join the men for another road doubleheader against a CUNYAC opponent on Monday, January 6, when they face off against York College. Game times are 5:30 & 7:30 PM.
