In the first of a twi-night doubleheader, the College of Staten Island cruised by Mercy College, 3-0, in Overwatch to raise their record to 5-0, and putting them on the cusp of a playoff berth, Mercy fell to 2-4.
CSI was sensational from start to finish in this one, starting with a successful defense and attack of control points in the opening match of the game. In the map of Ilios,
Kevin Alushllari amassed 10 Charge Kills, while
Hadi Daoud was on the attack with 31 eliminations.
James Handibode was equally potent with 9,534 hero damage.
The Temple of Anubis was the second map played for the game of Assault. CSI was on the attack first and scored two points that way, needing a successful defense to take the point, and that they did.
Shane Drucker did heavy damage with 28 High Energy Kills, while Alushllari posted 37 eliminations.
In the final match of Hybrid, CSI ruled again, scoring three quick points before successfully defending their half of play to win the match shortly after attacking first. Drucker placed 35 High Energy Kills while
Elizabeth Garrison posted 32 defensive assists.
The win could insure the Dolphins of a playoff spot as-is, but they can clinch later tonight when they face Old Westbury at 9pm. That match was originally scheduled for 7pm, later postponed, and now set for 9pm with a chance for CSI to make the playoffs.
