About Overwatch:  Overwatch is a fast-paced, first-person shooter, where teams are matched up six against six to battle in a series of different competitive scenarios.  Gamers choose a character to control in one of three different roles: Tank (defenders), DPS (damage inflictors), and Support (healers).  The ECC follows a format where teams try to win a best-of-five competition with a point earned per round played.  Each of the five rounds of play are different, with modes generally centered around sequentially securing control of points on the map, or escorting a payload between points on the map, with one team attacking while the other defends, or a combination of those scenarios.  Rounds can take anywhere from 15-40 minutes with an entire match extending between two to three and a half hours, depending on the competitive matchup.
News & Notes:  Now in its third year, the East Coast Conference is kicked off play five weeks ago and we have officially approached the midway point of the season.  CSI is 4-0 going into today's action and the playoffs are officially on the line.  If CSI wins their match today they will move to 5-0 and on the cusp of a playoff berth.  They can officially lock up a playoff berth with a win and pending the results of other matches as well.  Mercy is still in contention for the playoffs but will need to help their cause considerably today.  The Mavericks enter at 2-3, recently coming off a win over Daemen College.  Their match against CSI was supposed to be played on Monday but was moved to today due to scheduling conflicts.  Mercy is currently fifth in the standings and the top four teams make the playoffs.
What's Next?:  CSI will have two more matches after tonight, pending a makeup or a forfeit against Old Westbury, and the first will be next week on October 23 against Southern New Hampshire at 7:00 PM.  Right now, SNHU is fourth in the standings at 2-2.  If CSI does not clinch the playoffs today, they can do so against the Penmen next week.  In other matches set for this week. Hood College (1-3) takes on Daemen College (0-5) and Farmingdale State (2-4), Southern New Hampshire (2-2) takes on Old Westbury (1-3) and Daemen (0-5), and New York Tech (5-0) takes on Molloy College (4-1).
