CSI ESPORTS BLANKS HOOD IN OVERWATCH, 3-0

10/2/2020 10:31:00 PM

The College of Staten Island Esports team stayed red-hot tonight, capturing a one-sided, 3-0 win over Hood College in the game of Overwatch.  CSI lifted to 3-0 overall, while Hood fell to 1-2.  CSI won in the rounds of Control, Assault, and Hybrid.

In the opening round of Control, CSI scored a perfect round one as Hadi Daoud and James Handibode both helped power the Dolphins to a 100-0 win, while Kevin Alushllari was able to also put up a lot of damage.  In the second round of Control, CSI again won the point convincingly just seconds into overtime to wrap up the point.  Shane Drucker's "Weast" put up a round best 26 eliminations, with Elizabeth Garrison posting 10 offensive assists.

CSI was just as strong in Assault.  CSI started as defenders, and once again Daoud proved to be too much, not allowing the Hood attackers into the objective area and CSi only needed to capture a single point as attackers.  In that round, Daoud's teleporting strategy along with Alushllari's tank charge was able to secure a point there in less than a minute to put CSI up 2-0 overall.  Alushllari was a force with a kill streak of 17  while Andrew Shnoda posted three gold medals.

The final round was Hybrid and CSI was able to capture their control point and escorted the payload extremely effectively after a great defense to start the round.  Handibode was able to take out a few Hood players thanks to some of Garrison's heals in what was a round dominated by the Dolphins.  Daoud's 18 kill streak led the way while Alushllari posted four charge kills and Chnoda posted 4,886 healing points.

With the win CSI improved to 3-0 and sit atop the Overwatch standings.  They play in Overwatch again next Friday at 7pm, when they take on Farmingdale State.
