About Overwatch:  Overwatch is a fast-paced, first-person shooter, where teams are matched up six against six to battle in a series of different competitive scenarios.  Gamers choose a character to control in one of three different roles: Tank (defenders), DPS (damage inflictors), and Support (healers).  The ECC follows a format where teams try to win a best-of-five competition with a point earned per round played.  Each of the five rounds of play are different, with modes generally centered around sequentially securing control of points on the map, or escorting a payload between points on the map, with one team attacking while the other defends, or a combination of those scenarios.  Rounds can take anywhere from 15-40 minutes with an entire match extending between two to three and a half hours, depending on the competitive matchup.
News & Notes:  With eight of the nine ECC teams still with one game left to play, the four-team ECC Playoffs have already been set with NYIT, CSI, Southern New Hampshire, and Molloy College having all qualified.  What stands to be determined now is playoff seeding.  The winner of tonight's match will win the ECC Regular Season Championship and the top-seed in the four-team playoff.  A win for CSI would insure a No. 2 seed for NYIT, while a win by NYIT could dump CSI anywhere from the No. 2 all the way down to the No. 4 seed, depending on what happens with other games around the ECC tonight.  The Playoffs begin a week from tonight, and the ECC Championship is one week later.  CSI's lone loss this season came last week vs. SNHU.  It was the only match that came down to a fifth and deciding match all year long, ultimately won by SNHU, 3-2.  This is the first matchup between the two schools in Overwatch, although they met earlier this season in Valorant, with CSi taking a 2-0 win.
What's Next?:  Insured of a playoff berth, CSI will await its seeding and its opponent in the first round, tentatively slated for next Friday, at 7pm.  Be sure to check back to www.csidolphins.com for the latest.
