The College of Staten Island Esports team ran their Overwatch record to a perfect 4-0 tonight, sailing past Farmingdale State, 3-0, in the game of Overwatch. Farmingdale fell to 2-3 with the loss, while CSI won for the second time this week over the Rams as they defeated them in Valorant earlier this week as well.
CSI won the opening round of Control, winning the first round 100-0 with some great play from
Kevin Alushllari. In the second round of Control, CSI was just as strong, as
Hadi Daoud steadied play and a quadruple kill by
Shane Drucker's "Weast" was able to help clinch it. Drucker finished with 27 high energy kills, while
Andrew Shnoda's "Bioactive1" scored 20 defensive assists, and Alushllari topped out at 7,191 hero damage.
The Dolphins were just as potent in Assault. CSI defended first and in overtime and the Rams scored the first point, but Daoud and Alushllari were able to withstand a second wave of attack so that the Rams finished 1-0 after their attack. When CSI attacked, things were heavily in favor of CSI. They were able to capture Point A quickly giving them a full five minutes to capture Point B, and the barrage they posted was overwhelming as Alushllari was able to score a bunch of damage to score both points, giving CSi the 2-1 win in the round and the 2-0 lead overall.
CSI then defended first in the Hybrid round, and although FSC was able to capture the point, they were not able to successfully deliver their payload and so CSI needed to simply complete the task on their end to win, and they did so in their turn on the attack to complete the win, and take the 3-0 win. Drucker put up 29 high energy kills while Shnoda posted 15 nano boost assists.
CSI will look to to continue their great play with a doubleheader next week. They will face Mercy College at 4pm on Friday, October 16, followed by a 7pm match against Old Westbury.
