ESPORTS BLASTS DAEMEN IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE, 2-0

11/4/2020 8:59:00 PM

The College of Staten Island Esports team made it a clean regular season sweep in the game of Valorant tonight by disposing of Daemen College in online game play, 2-0.  CSI did it convincingly, winning on the Icebox map, 13-1, and then taking Bind, 13-0.  CSI improved to 8-0 on the season, while Daemen finished at 0-8.

In the opening round on the map of Icebox, CSI was the attacking team first.  They ran the table, blasting the Wildcats with 12-straight wins.  It was only when CSI went on the defensive did they yield a round, but they quickly responded with a win on defense right after to take the opening round, 13-1.  Kyle Tordecilla led all Dolphins with 19 kills next to just four deaths, scoring three first bloods.  Ryan Lu was right there with him with 18 kills next to four deaths, while Christian Dumadag posted 12 kills.

CSI followed up the great round with an even better one on Bind.  This time, CSI chose to attack first again, and again it was 12-straight to take a huge lead before winning the single defensive effort on the board to make it a 13-0 win overall.  Lu finalized his awesome night with a team-best 18 kills and three first bloods.  Tordecilla went flawless, striking down 12 Wildcats while avoiding being killed for the entire round.

CSI had already clinched the playoffs and the upcoming tournament's top-seed.  They will await the results of other matchups before they learn who they will play a week from tonight in the ECC Semifinals.
