All-Time Series: CSI leads, 68-8
Last Meeting: January 6, 2020, CSI won 64-50
Players to Watch (CSI): Megan McEwan has now scored double-digits in each of CSI's last seven games, all Dolphins' victories, following her 16-point performance in just 21 minutes played against the Cougars on Saturday. Her 14.6 points pr game continues to lead the team and both her 83 free-throws made and 99 free-throws attempted are team-highs.
Jada Rogers scored 14 in limited action against the Cougars on Saturday to raise her scoring average to 10.2 per game on nearly 46% shooting.
Diana Todaro leads CSI in field-goal percentage at 48.7% and in rebounding at 11.1 per game.
Deidre Foster is the third of five Dolphins who scored in double-figures on Saturday and she is second on the team in both rebounding and shooting percentage at 7.6 per game and 47.1% from the floor.
Kayla Schmitter and
Kristina Arvelo also registered double digits on Saturday and both are scoring over 8 points per game. Arvelo comes in as the Dolphins leading three-point shooter at 34.9% with McEwan close behind at 34.1%
Players to Watch (YC): The only Cardinal scoring at least ten points per game is Mac-Dege Dessources who has tallied an average of 13.4 per game to go along with a team-leading 13.2 rebounds. She is also leading the team in shooting at 48.8% with Daniesha Newsome and Keyla Cabrera being the only other players above the 40% mark who have played over 50 minutes for York this season. Newsome is tied for second on the team in points per game at 9.0 alongside Elma Hodzic and Cabrera, who is scoring 5.2 per game, is second on the team in rebounding at 7.1 per game. Kristina Sierra, Destiny Drummond, and Cami Melson have all logged considerable minutes both in the starting and in reserve roles as well for a York team that comes in shooting 35% from the field and 23.1% from beyond the arc.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have dominated the all-time series which has included a 21-game CSI winning streak and a 15-game winning streak that was ended in 2018 via a CSI forfeit. If that streak had remained intact, it would currently stand at 19 games entering tonight's matchup between the two teams. Though CSI has won many of the matchups with York by very considerable margins, the game between the two teams earlier this year remained highly competitive until CSI broke it open in the third quarter. However, the Dolphins shot very poorly in that game hitting only 33.8% of their attempts from the field. Having seen a drastic increase in their overall shooting numbers since that game, the Dolphins are now just north of the 40% mark from the floor this season while the Cardinals are shooting just above 35%. Both teams have rebounded the ball well, but the Dolphins hold a distinct advantage from long range having connected on 31.2% of their threes as opposed to only 23.1% for York.
What's Next?: The Dolphins will be back on the road this Friday night when they travel to Lehman College to face the Lightning at 5:00. The men's game will follow with tip-off scheduled for approximately 7:30 PM.
