Less than 24 hours after officially kicking off their 2020 campaign in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the College of Staten Island Baseball team is heading right back to work beginning this morning, as they will play a pair of games on Day Two of their Spring Training trip. At 10:30 AM, CSI will face a familiar opponent in John Jay College, followed by a matchup against NCAA Division II Benedict College right after.

Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins got big days from a lot of their players on opening day yesterday.
Jett Nouvertne and
Giacchino Virone each posted four hits in six at-bats to lead CSI.
Anthony Lozada also posted four hits, three of them doubles. Virone, Lozada and
Andrew Nathan each posted five RBI on the day, with Nathan's three-run homerun a sure highlight.
Players to Watch (JJC): In the early stages of the season, John Jay has seen a tremendous start from Philip Bellomo, who went a heavy 5-6 in his first game played with Walfi Regalado scattering three hits so far.
Michael Manzoeillo, Danny Wynne, and Mike Mescia all have a pair of hits for the Bloodhounds as well. Chris Meditz has been solid on the mound, throwing a pair of scoreless relief innings so far.
Players to Watch (BC): Still early in the year, Benedict has been hot at the plate, led by Ahmad Ali's .571 average, spreading eight hits in 14 at-bats with two doubles, a triple and a homer. Nick Weston has a pair of doubles as well and is batting .545, while Myquerris McGrier is batting an even .500 with five runs scored. Jorge Baez has been great on the mound so far, sporting a 2.57 ERA in three appearances, while Jacob Lagos is 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA through six innings.
News & Notes: The Dolphins and the Tigers of Benedict were supposed to meet for a pair of games today, but a cancellation of the earlier contest by Benedict left CSI scrambling and their familiar CUNYAC-rivals of John Jay stepped to the plate to offer the Dolphins a contest this morning. The game between CSI and John Jay will be the 129th meeting in the series with CSI sporting an 85-43 overall win-loss record in the series. CSI has won the last five meetings and eight of the last nine.
