Staten Island, NY | The Dolphin Pod is back this week with a special guest with unique ties to the College of Staten Island. Broadcasting great Kenny Albert, the play-by-play voice for all four major sports for FOX Sports, NBC Sports, the MSG Network and Westwood One Radio joined the show, reminiscing on his early days in sports in the borough and at the College of Staten Island, where he and former CSI basketballer and Head Men's Basketball Coach Tony Petosa got to know one another. Petosa also joined the show, which is also featured as video on
YouTube.
A first of its kind news magazine podcast at CSI, The Dolphin Pod chronicles all things College of Staten Island Athletics. Weekly previews, reviews, interviews and more are on tap every Friday afternoon. CSI Associate Director of Athletics
David Pizzuto anchors the show, alongside Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach
Nicholas Doran.
On this week's edition of The Dolphin Pod, Pizzuto & Doran sat with Albert and Petosa, mapping out their rise as young professionals on what was the College of Staten Island campus in the mid-1980's. Back then, the duo were connected with the Staten Island Stallions' USBL franchise, Petosa as a player and Albert as a young up-and-coming media member working behind-the-scenes with former CSI coach and Hall of Famer Evan Pickman. The two spoke of their progressions and advancements in their respective fields, and offered advice to current student-athletes and young professionals looking to elevate in the industry. Albert also offered a very unique memory that serves as one of his favorite sports moments, and promised to visit again in the future.
