STATEN ISLAND, NY – The College of Staten Island Athletics is proud to announce the return of Samantha Flecker, a standout on the women's basketball team from 2014 to 2018, as the new Assistant Athletic Director for Communications.

Flecker began her journey in athletic communications during her freshman year in 2014, working part-time under former Sports Information Director David Pizzuto. She continued in that role for six years, ultimately completing a master's degree in Sports Management from Southern New Hampshire University.

A year after completing her education, she began her career as the Intramural Sports Coordinator at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and later returned home to serve as the Communications Assistant at Division II Felician University. After being promoted to Director with the Golden Falcons, she led a successful overhaul of the department's digital media presence, including a full redesign of the official website and enhancement of social media platforms.

Her most recent role was at Pace University in Pleasantville, NY, where she balanced administrative responsibilities with her core duties in athletic communications. Similar to her work at Felician, she focused on enhancing the university's digital presence while also fostering strong relationships with corporate sponsors and alumni. Additionally, she gained valuable experience hosting three NCAA Tournaments and two Northeast 10 (NE10) Championship events across men's and women's lacrosse and softball.

"I am so grateful to be able to come back and work at a place that I've called home for four years," Flecker stated. "Not only have I obtained a lifetime of memories at CSI, but I've also established a career path for myself that I have developed a huge passion for."

Flecker will serve as the primary liaison for all digital media efforts related to CSI Athletics, the ECC, and the NCAA. She will oversee the CSI Athletics official website and social media platforms, coordinate statistical data exchange for NCAA purposes, and manage gameday staff. Her role will also include enhancing alumni outreach and supporting departmental fundraising operations.
