MEN’S SOCCER SET TO CLASH WITH ST. THOMAS AQUINAS ON THE ROAD

10/16/2021 10:39:00 AM

Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer team (3-6-1 1-3 ECC) will head over to Sparkill, NY against East Coast Conference (ECC) foe the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College (7-3-1 4-1 ECC). This is the first of three straight road games for the Dolphins, two of which will be against ECC opponents. Both teams met in September of 2019 where the game ended in a tie, 1-1, in what was then a non-conference matchup. Fast forward two years later, both teams have revamped their rosters, and now CSI and STAC have become conference foes as they look to do battle going forward every year.

LAST TIME OUT
The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team battled Felician University to a 1-1 draw this past Wednesday at Dolphins Soccer Park. The tie, the first of the season for both sides, brought CSI to 3-6-1 overall in a non-conference bout. Before that, CSI had won their previous two games, including a 1-0 win against fellow ECC foe D'Youville College, that gave CSI their first ECC win of the season.

DOLPHINS TO WATCH
With CSI Freshmen goalie, Bougary Sissoko at the helm, CSI has won three of their last six games played, allowing under one goal per game in that stretch. Look for Daniel Angulo to continue his aggressive play on the pitch who assisted in the loan goal of the previous game that ended in a tie. That goal was off the foot of Freshmen Nermin Buljubasic, who scored his first goal of the season, taking three shots in the game, his most taken in any game this season.
