CSI ESPORTS: WEEK THREE REVIEW + WEEK FOUR PREVIEW

Staten Island, NY – Two CSI Esports teams stay undefeated through week three play and one individual player stays unbeaten. Other teams improved their records while some fought diligently in a loss. Below you will find every Esports match played in Week Three. In addition, find out what matchups are coming up this week and watch LIVE if applicable.

ECAC: Best two out of three 9-Stock 3v3 Crew Battle
ECC: Best two out of three 1v1 3-Stock Battle Format
ECAC: CSI picked up their second win in a row, rolling by Thomas College (TC) losing only five stocks in the match win. Jeremiah Alonso (YoshiSonic35) started and finished game one for CSI defeating all three Thomas College's players by himself and losing only one stock in the process. In game two Alonso continued his hot streak and took TC's first four stocks before losing all three of his. Up next for CSI was, Christopher Tullo (Lemon), who made his CSI debut and what a showing it was. Tullo finished the game defeating the final two TC's players left and all five remaining stocks while losing only one of his own. CSI is now above .500 with a, 2-1 record.
 
ECC: In ECC singles matchups, all four CSI players picked up a win in their respective games played on Wednesday night. Emmanuel Santos, Justin Pena, and James Handibode picked up their second wins of the season moving them all tied for 2nd place in their respective group play with, 2-1 records each. Meanwhile, Nicholas Lam remains undefeated at, 3-0, and now owns sole possession of first place within his group.

Week Three Result: CSI 2, Keuka College 0 (1-0, 2-1)
Date / Conference: Monday, October 11, 2021 / Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
Game Notes:
Best two out of three 1v1 Online Format
CSI's Amr Mousa (Mousey) defeated Michael Gould from Keuka College in straight sets. In game one, Mousa was able to score one goal and shutout Gould for the win. Game two went into a golden goal overtime period with the game tied at one apiece. Mousa was able to score first for the game win and sealed the match win, improving to 2-1 on the season.

Best two out of three 1v1 Online Format
PS4: Christopher Velasquez (CSI C Team) lost a tough one to Clarke University's (Gold Team) DeQuincy Young, 2-1. Velasquez stole game one, 51-47, holding Young to 35% shooting with the Lakers defense. Young switch from the Bucks to the Sixers for game two and won that game by 12 points, 60-48. Tied at one game apiece, Velasquez stuck with the Lakers and Young stayed with Sixers, however, it was Young that came out on top, holding Velasquez to 30% shooting from the field and grabbing double digit offensive rebounds for a final of, 56-39.
 
 Xbox: Michael Ashley (CSI M Team), picked up a forfeited loss.

Week Three Results: ECC: CSI 3, St. Joseph-LI 0 (3-1, 7-3, 4-3)

Game Notes:
ECC & ECAC: Best two out of three, 3v3
ECC: CSI stays unbeaten in the ECC picking up their third win, 3-0, against St. Joseph College (LI). Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy) was the star of the game, filling up the stat sheet with a goal, an assist, and a save. CSI was down in the first 10 seconds of the game but rapidly came back to hold a, 3-1 game one victory. For game two, SJC was able to tie the game early at the start, however, midway through the game, CSI went on a scoring rampage with some dazzling passing and air antics for a final of, 7-3. Vargas (Driftzy) scored four goals in game two, while Samuel Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) tallied three perfect timed assists. Game three was tighter than CSI liked, however, they pulled out the win, 4-3. Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) made two big saves in final set and scored one, while Vargas (Driftzy) added two more goals for, 4-3 final score.
 
ECAC: CSI grabbed their second win in ECAC action against SUNY Poly Institute, 3-0. In the first two games CSI never trailed and won both games with some dazzling play in the air, perfectly executed passing and defensive stops. Game three found CSI down 1-0 in the first minute of play, though, it wasn't long till the Dolphins found themselves taking the lead shortly after in rout to scoring six unanswered goals before a final game three score of, 6-2 and the match win. Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) led them in goals with seven overall. The team tallied 14 assists overall, Samuel Rozenfeld (Elventeen) led them with six assists. Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy), did a little bit of everything, scoring four goals, adding three assists and saving four shots.

Best two out three games
CSI picked up their third win against Hood College in straight sets (13-6, 13-2). CSI is now in sole possession of first place. In game one, Christian Dumadag (Juicy) led the team with 22 kills and Ryan Lu (Miruux) planted the spike successfully 10 times. Freshmen, Kyle Collins (7iq) added 19 kills and five first bloods before a final of 13-6. In game two, CSI dominated once again racking up a total of 69 kills and 15 first bloods collectively in route to a 13-2 final.

Game Notes:
Best three out of five games
CSI picked up their first win, albeit via forfeit, over SUNY Old Westbury who did not have enough players to participate in the match.

Week Three Result: CSI 0, St. Lawrence University 2
Date / Conference: Saturday, October 16, 2021 / Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
Game Notes: In their third ECAC contest, CSI, though they kept the first game close, comes up short against St. Lawrence losing in straight games to fall to 0-3 on the season. Team kills were few and far between for CSI as St. Lawrence controlled every aspect of the matchup to keep CSI at bay until it was time to destroy the rift. As in every game this season, CSI hangs tough early but gets dominated late as Game two only took 23 minutes to complete.
