Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

DOLPHINS DROP ONE TO GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE, 5-1

Wilmington, DE – In a non-conference matchup in Delaware, The College of Staten Island's Men's Soccer team fell to Goldey-Beacom College, 5-1, earlier this afternoon at the Nancy Churchman Swin Field. The loss drops CSI to 3-9-1 on the season, while the Lighting improve to 3-9. The Dolphins have five games left on the season, four of which are against ECC opponents all at home.
 
KEY MOMENTS
The Dolphins had their chances to score early in the first half, taking five shots within the first 15 minutes of play, however, the Lighting came back with a vengeance on the offensive end scoring two goals in a one-minute span during the 21-22 minute mark of the game giving them a 2-0 lead. The Lighting would add one more in the next 10 minutes giving them a, 3-0 lead at the half. CSI only mustered three more shots before the first half ended. The Lighting did not put on the brakes adding two more goals in the second half, before a final of 5-1. CSI did get on the board in the 80th minute of play when Larry Diggs scored his second goal of the season, coming off the bench.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Dolphins tallied 11 shots for the game, however, eight were in the first half, though seven were on goal. The Lighting tallied 16 shots with 12 on goal, their most shots on goal and goals in a game this season. CSI led in corners, 5-3, though they were not able to capitalize on any of them.
 
DOLPHINS OF THE GAME
Not much action on both fronts for CSI Dolphin players. Brandon Figueroa took three shots in the game, two on-goal that led them in total shot attempts. Larry Diggs came off the bench to score his second goal of the season that made the score, 4-1, before the Lighting added one more later. Omer Hamzacebi started the game for CSI as the Goalie, however, gave up three goals on four shots faced, saving one all in the first half. Bougary Sissoko entered in the second half and did slightly better as he faced eight shots, gave up two goals and saved six shots.
