GAMEDAY: MEN’S SOCCER TRAVEL TO DAEMEN COLLEGE AS PART OF ECC DOUBLE HEADER MATCHUP

10/23/2021 9:00:00 AM

Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer team (3-8-1, 1-4 ECC) head to Williamsville, NY for a Saturday morning East Coast Conference (ECC) matchup against the Wildcats of Daemen College (3-9, 1-5 ECC). The men kickoff at 11:00 am followed by the women who will play the Wildcats at 1:30 pm. This will be the first matchup ever for the men. This is the first of three straight ECC matchups, the next two will be at home. Both teams are in the middle of the pact in the ECC standings, a win for either team would be huge for playoff hopes.

LAST TIME OUT
This past Wednesday, in a non-conference matchup in Delaware, the Dolphins fell to Goldey-Beacom College, 5-1, on the road. It was their second loss in a row before a three-game unbeaten streak that included an ECC win against D'Youville College, 1-0, CSI's first conference win. Daemen is also coming off two losses in a row, one to fellow ECC foe, University of Bridgeport, 2-0 most recently.

DOLPHINS TO WATCH
Only three Dolphins have played and started every game this season, Sophomore Captain, Daniel Angulo, Freshmen Leandro Angulo, and Freshmen Brian Kerilu. Combined they account for 18 of 35 shots taken within the last three games played. Freshmen Goalkeeper, Bougary Sissoko has played in nine of the 12 games this season starting seven of them, however, he has only played a half in the net in the last two games. Sissoko is allowing 1.01 goals per game, with a 0.810 save percentage and a 3-2-1 record when he starts.
