ECC: CSI losses their first game in the ECC this season, defeated by Hood College, 3-1. Game one was tight one, but Hood gave CSI a little bit of their own medicine with some spectacular air acrobatics and continuity as a team, taking game one, 3-2. In game two, CSI went back to work scoring at will with some precise passing, Samuel Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) netted three goals and Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy) tallied three assists. Game three had a similar ending to game one, with 11 seconds remaining on the clock and CSI down, 3-1, Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) finds Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) to make the game 3-2, then off the kickoff, Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) scarcely missed shot at the final seconds of play that would have tied the game. Kleyer (Muckz) had two assists and three great saves in that game. Game four saw Hood jump out to a 3-0 lead early, CSI would cut into that lead as Kleyer (Muckz) would score one, and then Vargas (Driftzy) would score an open goal to make the score, 3-2, with 90 seconds remaining. Twenty seconds later, Hood would score an open goal, the second open goal of the game, as CSI could not get back on defense on time. Hood took the game 4-2 and the series, 3-1. This is CSI's first loss ever in the ECC, dating back to their inaugural Spring 2021 ECC championship season.
ECAC: CSI won a hard-fought battle in five games, 3-2, against Central Methodist University. Game one was taken by CSI, 2-1, though, they were down 1-0 with under 90 seconds remaining, Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy) put two in the net with just under a minute left and CSI was able to make a few more stops before sealing the victory. CSI won game two, 4-2, never trailing in the game as the team saved six shots collectively. CMU down now, 2-0 in the series did not go down quite taking game three, 2-0, allowing CSI to take three shots in total. Game four was a back-and-forth affair, until the last minute of play when CMU took a two-goal lead with six seconds remaining that sealed the game four win. With the series tied, 2-2, CSI put great offensive pressure on CMU to start game five going up, 2-0, with 2:47 remaining on the clock. CSI then would make some amazing saves and put on the defensive pressure to seal the shutout and the game five win and series win to improve their ECAC record to, 3-1. Across all five games played, Vargas (Driftzy) led than with five goals and added nine saves. Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) led them with 10 saves and seven assists. Samuel Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) did a little bit of everything each game, racking up four goals, three assists and six saves. |
