CSI ESPORTS: WEEK SEVEN REVIEW + WEEK EIGHT PREVIEW

Staten Island, NY – Through Week seven of the ECC & ECAC Esports Fall 2021 season, CSI Esports teams are 39-23 collectively. CSI's Valorant team stays undefeated after another win now, 7-0. CSI's Rocket League team is now 13-2, across both ECC & ECAC leagues picking three more wins this past week. Playoffs is right around the corner, in fact, ECAC League of Legends team already played their round one playoff game, as they squeezed into the final playoff spot, though, they lost in hard fourth battle. Below you will find every Esports match played in Week Seven. In addition, find out what matchups are coming up this week and watch LIVE if applicable.

ECAC: Best two out of three 9-Stock 3v3 Crew Battle
ECC: Best three out of five 1v1 3-Stock Battle Format
ECAC: CSI's SSBU sent out their same lineup from last week's loss, for a match against Florida Atlantic University's SSBU team. Though, this week was different as CSI's squad of Justin Pena (Yotin), Jeremiah Alonso (YoshiSonic35), and Keith Hardy II (Alondite) took care of business in a 2-0 match win against FAU. CSI took both games 9-5, losing a total of 10 stocks while taking all 18 from FAU, between both games.
 
ECC: In ECC 1v1 SSBU matchups in week seven, Justin Pena (Yotin) defeated fellow CSI player James Handibode (Sly), 3-1, putting him at second place overall, while Handibode (Sly) slides down to fourth in the group. Emmanuel Santos (blub) picked up a tight, 3-2, win over NYIT (Paul) moving him up in his own group to, third overall at, 5-2. CSI's Nicholas Lam (ToonNick) remains undefeated beating OW's Elena, 3-0.

Week Seven Result: CSI 2, Augustana College 0 (4-3, 4-3, Game Scores)

Best two out of three 1v1 Online Format
CSI's Amr Mousa (Mousey) is now on a three-game win streak, after defeating Augustana College's Moby Ali in straight sets, 2-0. Both games were decided by one goal, 4-3, as it was tight matchup between two top players all season long. He is now tied for fourth place in the ECAC FIFA 21 PS4 Fall Esports League.

Best two out of three 1v1 Online Format
PS4: Christopher Velasquez (CSI C Team) put a stop to his two-game losing streak with a win over SUNY Empire State College's Daquan Davis, 2-0. Velasquez took game one, 60-48, using the Sixers to beat Davis's Lakers. In game two, Velasquez dominated from start to finish this time using the Lakers, scoring 100 points in route to a 100-64 win against the Nets who Davis choose for game two. The win pushes his record above .500 and in the top 10 as the season winds down.
 
Xbox: Michael Ashley (CSI M Team) lost another match due to connectivity issues, though, he was able to play for a little, both games shutdown due to intermitted internet during gameplay, thus, Ashley ultimately was forced to forfeit the match. Three of his four losses this season have been due to internet connection issues.

ECC & ECAC: Best three out of five, 3v3
ECC: CSI would play back-to-back games against ECC Esports opponents to finalize the regular season before playoffs begin soon. First, CSI would take out a Farmingdale State College C team in straight sets, 3-0, though, FSC did not make the final two games easy wining by one goal in games two and three to close it out. Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy) led the team in goals with four for the match, while Samuel Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) saved three of the total six saves of the match for CSI. Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) contributed with three goals and three assists in the match. Less than 15 minutes later CSI was right back at it, this time with a matchup against NYIT. CSI would come out strong, taking the first two games, outscoring NYIT in total, 8-2. NYIT would bounce back in game three with a 2-0 win, limiting CSI to only six shots and forcing a game four. CSI would take a 1-0 lead in game four off a shot from Kleyer (Muckz) on the opposite end of the field seeing there was an open net. From then on CSI would add two more quickly to take a commanding 3-0 lead that they would hold on to and win the game and series, 3-1. Kleyer (Muckz) tallied six goals in the match and led them in saves with seven, while Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) tallied a match high four assists and five saves. Vargas (Driftzy) would add three goals, six saves and two assists in the match.  
 
ECAC: CSI was featured on the ECAC Twitch Channel and what a match it was. Both teams were very evenly matched up and it was defensive match that saw CSI come out on top over the University of Louisville, 3-2. In game one CSI was down early, 0-1, however they would score three straight goals in a 15 second span under the two-minute mark taking a 3-1 lead. Louisville would score to cut the lead down to one goal, 3-2, though, time was not on their side as they came close to tying the game, but the ball hit the ground as the time expired giving CSI the game one win, 3-2. In game two, CSI was down, 1-0 early again, and would stay without a goal as they Louisville's pressure on offense and defense was to much as CSI lost, 0-4. Game three went into overtime when Samuel Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) scored two goals for CSI under seconds tying the game at 2-2 and sending it to overtime. However, Louisville would score in 28 seconds of extra time to win, 3-2 and take a 2-1 series lead. In game four, CSI was down again to start, this time 2-0, with 3:17 left in the game. CSI would bounce back quickly first a sweet touch goal by Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) and then Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) tied the game at 2-2 with another nice touch goal, both within a span of eight seconds. Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) would score the game winning goal with 48 seconds reaming in the game as CSI's defense was able to hold off the final push by Louisville and take game four, 3-2, tying the series at, 2-2. Game five was just as intense as the first four games, though this time, it was CSI taking the early lead, 1-0, off the wheel of Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) in the first 18 seconds of the play, the earliest scored goal of the match. Louisville would receive a break when CSI was in at the wrong spot at the wrong time creating an own goal score from mid field that tied the game for Louisville, 1-1. It stayed tied with under 10 second remaining before extra time, until Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) would boost up in the air and clip one just under the crossbar of the goal with some fantastic aerial acrobatics giving CSI the, 2-1 lead with seven seconds remaining. CSI would hold on and win game five. Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) was all over the field putting pressure on the offense while Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) played well on both ends as did Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy), though, he played exceptionally well on defensive end.

Week Seven Result: CSI 2, NYIT 0 (14-12, 13-8)
Date / Conference: Tuesday, November 11, 2021 / East Coast Conference (ECC)
Game Notes:
Best two out three games
CSI Valorant team remains the only undefeated team in the ECC, picking up a win against NYIT, 2-0, who did not make it easy for CSI especially in game one. CSI won a back-and-forth battle in game one, 14-12 as NYIT did not back down. Kyle Collins (7iq) led the team with 25 kills as he was the only Dolphin with 20 plus kills; he also added four first bloods and had a combat score of 305. Ryan Lu (Miruux) was key planting the spike seven times and defusing two in that win-by-two overtime game one. In game two, CSI had the upper hand for most of the game and pulled away in the lather portion of the game with a 13-8 win. Lu (Miruux) led the team with 21 kills, seven assisted kills and three plants. Andrew Aquino (Bread) and Christian Dumadag (Juicy) combined for 35 kills in the game two win. Hadi Daoud (Xeromous) tallied double-double with 11 assisted kills and 10 kills helping CSI to their game two win. CSI will have a bye this coming week before playoffs are set to begin.

Week Seven Results: CSI 2, Hood College 3 | CSI 0, Molloy College 3
Date / Conference: Tuesday & Thursday, November 9 & 11, 2021 / East Coast Conference (ECC)
Game Notes:
Best three out of five games
CSI played two ECC games this week, as several reschedules were needed. In their first game, CSI played a tight match against Hood College, losing 3-2-1, one game ended in a draw giving CSI a fighting chance, though, they came up short in what was a near two-hour matchup. CSI lost game one, then picked up a game two win as James Handibode (Sly) & Drew Visser (DVisser) combine for 77 eliminations in that game two comeback win. Game three was a draw, CSI first this season. CSI played fantastic in game four, picking up the win. Andrew Shnoda (Bioactive) took 50% (21,064) of the team's damage while Shane Drucker (Weast) added 12 earthshattering kills and 15 earthshattering stuns in the game four win. Game five went to Hood College, in tight game that saw CSI's support players Shnoda (Bioactive) and Elizabeth Garrison (Lizzie) do their best to hold down the area for CSI, though, they came up short. Due to the draw and the series now tied at 2-2, a game six was played and both teams secured an objective forcing a round three final battle for the match. Though, CSI started well, Hood finished even better and captured the final point, 100%-65% for the 3-2-1 series win.
 
In their second game of the week CSI was defeated by Molloy College, 3-0, though, the team battled to the very end in each round. The two losses drop CSI to two games under .500 and will look to bounce back in a final game next week.

Week Seven Result: CSI 1, LIU 2 – Playoffs Round One
Date / Conference: Saturday, November 13, 2021 / Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
Game Notes: CSI League of Legends ECAC season has come to an end after losing to the number two seed LIU LOL team in Purple Division Group 1, 2-1. Though CSI's season is over for this game, they put up a valiente effort all season long and squeezed into the final playoff spot beating out Johnson & Wales and Bellarmine Universities who did not make the playoffs this year.
