Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving teams will have swim double-header of sorts, first on Friday night at the Tank, the Dolphins host Montclair State University for a 5:00 PM start. On the very next day, CSI will travel to Pace University for a meet versus the Setters that is set to start at 2:30 PM in Pleasantville, NY. Overall both Dolphin squads are 0-3 against the RedHawks in recent seasons as they see their first win against them. For Saturday's matchup, the Dolphins men's team are 5-1-1 overall against the Setters, losing their last matchup back in 2015-16. The Dolphin women are 1-6 overall versus the Setters and have lost their last six matchups, including their last meet in 2015-16. The Dolphins squads this season are currently undefeated at 3-0 overall and already have had a few record-breaking individual performances.
LAST TIME OUT
Less than a week ago, the Dolphins hosted their first-ever East Coast Conference (ECC) Invite at The Tank. The women took out both Queens College and Roberts-Wesleyan College while the Men took out Roberts-Wesleyan. First, the women pick up a win versus Queens College by a final score of 133-75. Then the men handed Roberts-Wesleyan a 132-96 loss. For the RedHawks, the men come in at 3-2 overall, losing their last team scored event to Rowan University. The RedHawks women come in with a 3-2-1 overall record, including the stalemate with Rowan in their recent team scored meet. The Setters on the men's team are 2-1 in team scored meets while the women Setters are 1-2 thus far this season.
DOLPHINS TO WATCH
Many Dolphin swimmers, young and seasoned have had record-breaking performances. They have been highlighted by freshmen
Anthony Attenborough, who broke another Dolphin's team record this in the 1000 free with time of 9.49.99 in their last matchup. In the same meet, freshmen Jessica Johnson narrowly missed the team record for the 50 free event with a time of 25.77. Junior
Michael Stora joined the party and set a pool record with his time in the 200-yard breaststroke while freshmen
Jordan Swanson scored 245.05 in the one-meter diving event, good for another new school record.
