The College of Staten Island baseball team will be looking to steady the ship coming off of a heavy-handed non-conference loss, and will be looking to do so against their ECC-rivals of St. Thomas Aquinas College.  Originally scheduled for a single game, the game was moved to a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 PM to compensate for the probability of rain tomorrow.

All-Time Series:  CSI leads 4-0-1
Last Meeting: May 1, 2000 - CSI won, 12-6
Players to Watch (CSI):  Thanks to a four-hit day on Wednesday, Thomas Marten has taken over the team lead in hitting with a .538 batting average after five games (four starts).  three of his seven hits have been for extra bases.  Angel Santiago lifted his average up to .417, with a team-best 10 hits.  The RBI leader for the Dolphins remains Shendi Ulaj, who has eight so far to go with his .263 average.  Louie Mandile leads CSI with a pair of homers while Nick Cippoletti has stolen CSI's only two bases this season.  Look for Nick Metzger and John Esposito to get some time on the hill in this series.  Metzger is 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA so far but had a quality six innings against Bridgeport on Monday, a game that the Dolphins ended up winning in extra innings.  Esposito threw one scoreless inning on Wednesday, and comes in 0-2 with a 14.04 ERA after a rough first start.
Players to Watch (STAC):  Through just six games, STAC is batting .343 as a team, led by Sean Lynch, who is batting .643 in four games.  James Versage is hitting .571 (12-21), leading the team with 12 RBI and 10 runs scored with four extra base hits.  Brian Donnelly is hitting .458 with seven RBI and three doubles.  Anthony Maisano is a threat on the bases with three steals so far, while Matthew Johnson has garnered seven walks to lift his on-base percentage to .520.  Alex Mack leads STAC with a pair of starts this season and is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA through a team-high 12.2 innings pitched.  Ryan Mustafoski is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA, and Aaron Donna has also been good with a 1-0 record and even 3.00 ERA. They should all see innings this weekend.
News & Notes: It's been close to 21 years, but there is a little bit of history between these two sides, as CSi owns an all-time 4-0-1 record against the Spartans all-time.  Those meetings came between 1980 and 2000.  The series started with a 6-6 tie in the only meeting held at STAC way back in that 1980 meeting, and the last four meetings took place at CSI, the last one in 2000, a 12-6 CSI win.  This is obviously the first meeting between the two teams as both members of the East Coast Conference, and the two teams will play another tomorrow, weather-permitting, at STAC's Sparkhill campus.  STAC started the season red-hot, scoring four wins at Felician College and then another two at Adelphi to stake a 6-0 record, but have now been idle for 20 days, seeing nine games canceled or postponed in that time.  It hasn't prevented them from being recognized, however, as they are ranked No. 3 in the NCBWA East Region Poll and are in the Others Receiving Votes category nationally.  Four of STAC's six wins have come by five runs or more.  CSI won their first-ever game as an ECC member on Monday, but dropped a contest to Dominican College on Wednesday, so they enter looking to get back in the win column.
