Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer team will start their 2021 season as part of the University of Bridgeport's Women's Soccer Classic playing two games in three days over the weekend in Bridgeport, Connecticut. CSI will be playing two non-conference DII opponents. The first game will be on Friday, September 3rd against the Yellow Jackets of American International College (AIC) at 1:00pm. Two days later, on Sunday, September 5th, CSI will take on the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) at 12:00pm.
LAST TIME OUT
This is CSI's first meeting ever against both colleges. The Dolphins will be looking to rebound from their fall 2019 campaign where they finished one game under .500. The women graduated a slew of seniors within the last year and a half and thus will be bringing out a nearly entirely new team on field come Friday afternoon. Meanwhile for SNHU, like CSI, they last played in fall of 2019. The Penmen finished with a 10-6-2 clip averaging over two goals per-game while giving up under two goals per-game. The Yellow Jackets might have an upper hand against all opponents in the soccer classic as they recently played a spring season in March of 2021 going 4-2-2 averaging a little over a goal per-game.
