Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Esports Team also plays in CSI Athletics' very own East Coast Conference (ECC) Fall 2022 Esports League. This year CSI Esports teams competing will be, Valorant (Fall 2020 ECC Champion), Rocket League (White (3x ECC Champion) & Blue Teams), and Overwatch 2. RL White and Valorant were given byes for their first week of competition, while RL Blue and Overwatch 2 picked up wins to start their ECC Fall 2022 season. Game Notes: The Dolphins Blue RL team bounced back from an ECAC defeat to beat Mercy College in their first ECC matchup last week. It was a close series throughout as CSI RL Blue tallied 11 saves overall. They needed overtime (+2:25) in the deciding game to clinch the series. Secora (AntphoneKnee), tied the final game at 2-2 with less than 30 seconds to play in regulation. It was Pasquale (grogg), who found the corner of the goal in OT to end the game and the series. The defending ECC Champions, CSI's White RL team, had a bye week for their first week of play as they look for a fourth straight ECC crown starting this week.

*Special Match Note: CSI's Rocket League (White Team) competed in the CECC East Region Qualifiers over the weekend. The Dolphins made it past the first round by defeating SUNY Polytechnic institute twice (3-1 & 3-0) in Group A play to advance to the round of eight. CSI would go on to beat Loyola University in straight sets 3-0, though, ultimately came up short (3-1) in their next match against Lackawanna College finishing 6^th overall. Game Notes: The Dolphins Valorant Esports team has looked different since their Fall 2020 ECC Championship team, though, that will not stop the new faces from gelling as a team with an extra week of practice before their season officially starts.

Game(s) Notes: While the CSI's Esports Overwatch team is not new, the brand-new release of Overwatch 2 on October 4, 2022 presents a new challenge for the team and they start off their ECC season playing the sequel just three days after release with a win over SNHU. While the game of Overwatch 2 might be new to some players, it's an even playing field to start the season as everyone has to adjust the new strategies and team compositions Overwatch 2 presents and that should make for some interesting matchups throughout the season as players as teams make their way towards the end of the season.
