GAMEDAY: MEN'S SOCCER FACES ALLIANCE UNIVERSITY IN BAYONNE BRIDGE CUP

Seacaucus, NJ - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team hits the road this afternoon for their final non-conference match of the season when they take on Alliance University in the Bayonne Bridge Cup. Alliance, formerly known as Nyack College, comes in with a record of 3-6-3. The Dolphins come in with a record of 3-9 following consecutive losses last week. These two teams have met just once before in a game played at Dolphins Soccer Park last season. The Warriors took the win in that meeting by a final score of 4-1.

The Dolphins last played on Saturday in an East Coast Conference matchup against Roberts Wesleyan University. The game remained scoreless through 45 minutes, but the Redhawks, who controlled play for the majority of the first half, registered three unanswered goals following the intermission. The Warriors were last in action on Saturday as well, and they picked up the win over Goldey-Beacom College by a final score of 3-1.

The Dolphins were held without a goal in each of their two games away from home last week. Following the pair of defeats, the team is still in search of their first win away from Dolphins Soccer Park and enters today's game 0-7 on the road. In last week's game against Chestnut Hill, the Dolphins were without several key players, but there remain three Dolphins who have both played in and started every game this season. Luis Ascencio Cueva, Leandro Angulo, and Steven Flores hold that distinction and have provided the team with great stability on defense. For Alliance, Matteo Guerrini leads the team with 5 goals followed by Javier Plaza with 3 and Jacopo Borgalli with 2. Plaza also has three assists and is joined Miguel Andrade as the only two Warriors with multiple assists. In goal for the Warriors, Marco Roessle has played every minute this season and has allowed just 1.67 goals per game while saving over 71% of the shots he has faced.
