CSI ESPORTS: ECAC WEEK FOUR RECAP | WEEK FIVE MATCHUPS

Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island Esports Teams played in their fourth set of competitions in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Fall 2022 Esports League last week. Overall, the teams went 3-7 during Week Four of ECAC competition. Four of the seven losses came via a forfeit, while some teams recorded key wins to help their ECAC standings. Below you will find every Esports match played in Week Four of the ECAC. Week 4 Results Blue: CSI 1, Southern Arkansas University 4 (3-1, 3-4, 0-1, 1-2, 2-5)
        Current Record: 1-3 | Tied for 53^rd
Week 4 Results White: CSI 4, Louisiana Tech University 0 (2-1, 2-1, 4-3, 2-1)
        Current Record: 4-0 | Tied for 1^st
Game Notes: CSI RL White Team is now 4-0 after a 4-0 match win over Louisiana Tech University. CSI won game one in a very close call by a score of, 2-1, though, would rally in the next three games to win the match, outscoring the Bulldogs 8-5 in those three games. Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) led the team in total goals with six and Vargas (Driftzy) led the team in total saves with five. Rozenfeld (Eleventeen) added four saves and tallied the most assists in the match with four. CSI's RL Blue team lost their match this past week to fall to 1-3 in the ECAC season as a team. CSI Blue went up 1-0 in the series before losing the next four games in a row. Look for CSI White to continue on with their winning ways, meanwhile, look for CSI Blue to bounce back next week.

Game Notes: CSI's COD Esports team lost their second match of the season in a forfeit. The Dolphins COD team is off to a decent start still at 2-2 with all of their players really contributing. Look for them to seek revenge against Southeastern Illinois College next Friday night at 8:00 P.M. primetime.

Week 4 Results: CSI 0, Grand Valley State University 2 (0-13, 3-13)
        Current Record: 0-4 | Tied for 40th
Game Notes: CSI's Valorant Team was completely outplayed by a score of 26-3 over both contests not showing much resilience. Recording just three points combined between both games as they would not be close to how GVSU had their chemistry really going. Wells (Sano) led the squad with 17 kills total between both games, though it was not enough with GVSU tallying nine more kills total as a team. TBA (Ahlus Sunnah wal) tallied nine assists in the loss, meanwhile Kam (Seraphic) recorded ten assists. Look for the Dolphins to get their first win next week when they take on the Dukes of James Madison.

Game Notes: CSI LOL's team won their second match in ECAC action last week, moving their record to a .500, 2-2 record.
In game one, CSI total kills (30) were more than the team's total amount of Deaths (17). It was more of the same in game two, where CSI had 25 kills and recorded 18 deaths as Southern Arkansas University wasn't able to force a game three. Uy (AJuy33289) took most of the team's damage in game one at nearly 30% and Ponkov (VTaliy) took most of the team's damage in game two roughly at 38%.

Game(s) Notes: Jared Williams (SBCxSmoke) suffers his second straight loss of the season dropping to 2-2 in NBA 2K23 as he was defeated by Zaree N. of Kean University by forfeit. Also in NBA 2k23, Healey (Rhealzzz) took a forfeit loss and falls to 2-2 in the ECAC as he is yet to play an official match. In Williams (SBCxSmoke) Madden 23 matchup, he took game one as the Chargers, 42-28, against the Buccaneers whom Bryan A. of Albany University, chose first. Down 1-0 in the series, Bryan stuck with the same team for the second consecutive game in a row, as Williams (SBCxSmoke) would then go ahead to pick up his second victory (42-28) with the same team for the second consecutive game in a row. Therefore, there would be no decisive game three that would take place as a result, and Williams caught a break from his rival after he tried to be persistent. Expect a much more detailed game plan next week for Williams as he will look to maintain his good play and winning record.

Game(s) Notes: Velasquez (MrStatenIsland13), took two close losses in consecutive games, notching his third loss of the season in conference play. Game one was a very close divisional game, where Velasquez was the Milwaukee Bucks, and Amir W. of South Carolina Aiken University was the Cleveland Cavaliers, who won by a narrow three points. Game two was also a very close divisional game, where Velasquez was the New Orleans Pelicans, and Amir W. took the Memphis Grizzlies, who won by only two points. In Nieves (NievesNYC) matchup, he took a forfeit loss getting his third loss of the season in conference play. Velasquez and Nieves both lost, but look for both of them to play hard next week with both of them essentially having to overcome 1-3 records halfway through the season now.
