GAMEDAY: MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYS THIRD STRAIGHT ROAD GAME AT PACE

Pleasantville, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Basketball Team will look to make it consecutive wins this afternoon when they take on the Pace University Setters in their third straight road game. The Dolphins come into today's game with a 1-3 record following their victory at St. Michael's on Tuesday. The Setters enter action today with a record of 4-1 and are also coming off of a victory on Tuesday. The Dolphins have won five of the six meetings between the two teams including a win over Pace last season.

The Dolphins picked up a big win their last time out on Tuesday when they knocked off the unbeaten St. Michael's College Purple Knights. The Dolphins didn't pick up their first lead until the closing minutes in that game, but a go-ahead basket by Chris Velasquez and a key stop on the game's final possession helped the Dolphins to their first win. The Setters won by 27 points in their last game against St. Anselm on Tuesday to earn their fourth win of the year.

The Dolphins come in with three players averaging over 15 points per game and shooting over 42% from the field. Leading the way in scoring is Luis Armas with 16.3 points per game on 44% shooting. Messiah Mallory is not far behind with an even 16 points per game on 44% from the floor. He is also leading the team in rebounding with 8.3 per game and has already collected 16 blocks through four games. The team's third-leading scorer, Bryce Waterman, is averaging 15.8 points per game and is shooting 43% from beyond the arc. The Setters are led in scoring by Brandon Powell with 14.6 points per game, but he is shooting just 38% from the field on the season. Lyron Bennet and Bryan Powell are both shooting at least 50% and averaging over 13 points per game. Each of them is also shooting at least 47% from downtown for a Setters team that shoots 49% from the field and 39% from three-point range.
