Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island Esports teams completed their third week of competitions in the ECAC Esports Spring 2022 season. CSI also started their ECC Esports Spring 2022 season in the games of Rocket League, Valorant and Overwatch. CSI went 3-4 across all title games played last week in both conferences. All three wins came from Valorant, Overwatch and Rocket League who all started the ECC season, 1-0. For Overwatch it is their first 1-0 start in Esports history. CSI struggled against ECAC opponents for the second week in a row, however, look for a bounce back from multiple teams this week. Below you will find every Esports match played in week three of the ECAC and in week one of the ECC. CSI's SSBU team of Jeremiah Alonso (YoshiSonic35), Nicholas Lam (Toonnick), and Justin Pena (Yotin) were defeated by the New York Institute of Technology, 2-1. Set one started off in a victory taking a 4-stock lead against NYIT. Set two was the opposite as NYIT took a 4-stock lead to secure their victory and tie the series at one set apiece. Set three was very close. Each team was down to their last player, unfortunately, NYIT took home the win after securing the last stock on CSI. |

CSI newest team in the game of Call of Duty team of Garic Li (Michelangelo), Roberto Perez (Wu), Abdullah Mustafa (ShadowQS), and Mohamed Elshowki (KingMotive), suffered a loss against Ball State University. Ball State University took straight sets in the game modes COD had to offer this time around, handing CSI a 0-3 loss. CSI will look to make a difference and regroup in next week's match and take home a win. |

ECC & ECAC: Best two out of three, 3v3 |
ECAC: CSI's Rocket League team of Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy), Samuel Rozenfeld (Eleventeen), and Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) were defeated by Boise State University. Games one and two were close in goals, CSI scoring one and BSU scoring two. CSI held their own in game three making sure BSU did not get a chance to score on them. CSI scored one shutting BSU out from scoring any goals. Game four saw a change in BSU's gameplay and strategy. BSU scored seven goals and shut out CSI, ending the set 1-3.

ECC: Your Back-to-Back ECC RL Champions started off their 2022 ECC campaign with a 3-1 win over Farmingdale's State College's A team. Each game was decided by two goals or less. The Rams took game three against CSI, however, CSI played well enough to secure the victory in game four coming out with a 5-4 win, as they continue to chase a three-peat in the ECC RL Spring 2022 season. |

CSI's League of Legends team of Edmund Li (Joker), Josh Allen Trayvilla (Kaeru6), Ethan Tang (Aspect of Orion), Arielle Uy (Ajuy33289), and Vitaliy Pankov (vTaliy) took a loss in their third game of the season against Daemen College. CSI played their hardest against Daemen College, however, DC kept the pressure on CSI to win both sets back-to-back. CSI will look to improve their teamwork and strategy to come back stronger for their next opponent. |

ECC: CSI's Overwatch team of Shane Drucker (Weast), Drew Visser (DVisser), James Handibode (Sly), Elizabeth Garrison (Lizzie), Andrew Shinoda (Bioactive1), and Xeromous defeated D'Youville College in straight sets. Round one, inset one saw CSI dominate the competition early on securing a 1-0 lead in the set. As they kept the pressure going into game two, CSI had eliminated D'Youville College's team all at once which gave CSI a 2-0 victory and winning set one of the series. Set two saw the determination of CSI to win against DYC. Round one CSI kept their defense up and made sure DYC could not break through and even if they did, DC would not get far. Round one went to CSI. In round two, CSI's offense would be hard to stop. DYC would fall causing CSI to have a 2-0 lead in the set. Set three of the series would see the same result as the prior sets. CSI was dominant as we saw their determination and teamwork in closing out the set against D'Youville College. CSI would continue the pressure as they would not let up on their objective. If one teammate was killed another would be right behind to attack. CSI would keep the pressure going to secure the win and take the series, 3-0. |

CSI's Valorant team this season will look slightly different, with only two returners from the last season, however, that did not stop them from their winning ways despite the championship loss last season. The teams of Andrew Aquino (Bread), Kyle Collins (7iq), Fadlan Cekainiku (Yedi), Eric Lin (Auth3nticReyna) and Erik Davis (c0ld) in their first contest playing together, CSI won in quick fashion handing DC a loss in straight sets, 2-0. In the first set, CSI were the attackers and took an early lead for the eventual 13-3 set one win. In set two, CSI was up 12-0 as the defenders this time, before DC got on the board to eliminate the shutout. However, CSI won set two, 13-1 and the match. Returner, Aquino (Bread) led the squad with over 30 kills and 10+ assists across both games. Newcomer, Cekainiku (Yedi) tallied over 25 kills combined in both sets. Newcomer Lin stayed alive the most in the match, tallying a team low of seven deaths across both sets. |
