CSI ESPORTS WEEKLY RECAP REPORT: ECAC WEEK FOUR | ECC WEEK TWO

Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island Esports teams completed their fourth week of competitions in the ECAC and their second week in the ECC Esports Spring 2022 seasons. CSI went 5-2 across all title games played last week in both conferences. The wins push CSI Esports overall record back to .500 at 11-11. Call of Duty picked up their first win in CSI Esports history, while Rocket League and Valorant had some epic battles for the victories. CSI had a strong week overall in both conferences, despite the two losses all games were played very competitively as CSI will have their work cut out for them moving forward. Below you will find every Esports match played in week four of the ECAC and in week two of the ECC. Week Four Results: CSI 2, The Catholic University of America 0 (9-6, 9-6 Stocks Taken)
Date / Conference: Tuesday, February 22, 2022 / Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
Game Notes:
ECAC: Best two out of three 9-Stock 3v3 Crew Battle
CSI's SSBU team of Jeremiah Alonso (YoshiSonic35), Nicholas Lam (Toonnick), and Justin Pena (Yotin) Defeated the Catholic University of America in straight sets. After coming back from a loss last week CSI showed that they can still go head-to-head against the teams in the ECAC. Both sets brought each team down to their last player. CSI's anchor, Justin Pena (Yotin), found ways to close out both sets in a dominant fashion. Finishing each game in a 9-6 stocks taken count. CSI will continue this momentum for next week's challengers.

Week Four Results: CSI 3, Wayne State College 0
Date / Conference: Sunday, February 27, 2022 / Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC)
Game Notes:
Best two out of three 1v1 Online Format
CSI newest team in the game of Call of Duty team of Garic Li (Michelangelo), Roberto Perez (Wu), Abdullah Mustafa (ShadowQS), and Mohamed Elshowki (KingMotive), defeated Wayne State College in straight sets picking up their first win ever in the COD. After coming back from a loss, CSI had successfully secured a win in a dominant fashion. In the series of select game modes in COD, CSI showed their improved teamwork and strategy to take on WSC. CSI showed that they can still strike hard when they least expect it. Both teams played their best, but CSI had the upper-hand and performed in unison with each other to take all three games modes in straight sets, 3-0.

Game Notes:
ECC & ECAC: Best two out of three, 3v3
ECAC: CSI's Rocket League team of Ralphy Vargas (Driftzy), Samuel Rozenfeld (Eleventeen), and Maxim Kleyer (Muckz) Defeated Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a very close matchup. Game one started off well, with CSI scoring five goals and only allowing RPI to score two. Game two, however, went in the favor of RPI. RPI managed to score six goals and kept their defense up to stop CSI from scoring. CSI snuck two past RPI's defense before giving up game two to RPI. In game three, we saw CSI bounce back like it was nothing. Scoring three goals and making sure RPI did not get a chance to sneak one past CSI'S strong defense, ending the game 3-0. In game four, CSI tried to keep their momentum going, however, RPI's game plan changed as they scored four goals whereas CSI managed to only score two. With the series knotted at 2-2, the last and final game saw CSI giving it all they had. They kept their pressure strong and their defense up. With both teams scoring back-to-back, it was tied 2-2. Luckily, CSI found an opening late in the game and scored the game-winning goal to secure the set and the series against RPI in a 3-2 series win.
 
ECC: After picking up a win in the ECAC, CSI played in their second game for the ECC and took home a tight victory in five games, 3-2, over Farmingdale State College's B Team. CSI took game one by a score of 3-1. However, FSC would take game two by one goal, 2-1. Game three was the highest scored game of the games played as CSI squeaked out a one-goal win, 5-4 against FSC. In game four, FSC was determined to stop CSI's scoring prowess and did so as they shutout CSI, 2-0 to tie the series and force a game five. Game five was no different from the previous games as both teams battled for scoring position while making some great defensive stops, however, it was CSI who stood their ground and held on to a, 2-1 game five win and series win, 3-2.

Week Four Results: CSI 0, Southern New Hampshire University 1 (Forfeit)
Date / Conference: Friday, February 25, 2022 / East Coast Conference (ECC)
Game Notes:
ECC & ECAC: Best two out of three, 3v3
CSI's League of Legends team of Edmund Li (Joker), Josh Allen Trayvilla (Kaeru6), Ethan Tang (Aspect of Orion), Arielle Uy (Ajuy33289), and Vitaliy Pankov (vTaliy) took a loss in their match against Southern New Hampshire College. Game one was played out and CSI had tried their hardest to push the advantage, however, SNHU came out on top and dealt more damage to take the win. After suffering the game one loss CSI had forfeited game two and the rest of the series. CSI will look to regroup and improve on their performance and strategy to come back stronger than before.

Week Two Results: CSI 1 vs Molly College 3
Date / Conference: Friday, February 25, 2022 – 6:00 PM / East Coast Conference (ECC)
Game Notes:
Best two out of three, 3v3
ECC: CSI's Overwatch team of Shane Drucker (Weast), Drew Visser (DVisser), James Handibode (Sly), Elizabeth Garrison (Lizzie), Andrew Shinoda (Bioactive1), and Hadi Daoud (Xeromous) were defeated by Molly College in a close series of games. Game one, set on, saw CSI try their hardest to keep the game very close. Both teams had kept their objective close in percent. Unfortunately, MC pushed the advantage to get a team wipe and complete their objective to 100%. Game two saw a dominant performance by MC having completed their objective and only letting CSI get theirs to 58%, as the game went to Molly college. In Set two CSI took an early lead in the series of games in the set. Leading 3-0, Molly College changed its tactics and turned the game around, tying the game 3-3. With the last game of the set, Molly college pushed their advantages and won the set 3-2. Set three CSI fought hard to take the objective. It was not easy with MC's defense early on but with one opening CSI took advantage and seized the objective. CSI kept their pressure up and secured their objective 100%-0. Game two CSI held their own and made sure Molly College did not get a chance to enter their objective. CSI defended their objective till the very end. Set Four CSI managed to come in strong and push their payload deep into MC's zone to take game one. Game two CSI tried their hardest to defend against the payload, though, MC tried to bring in. However, with MC's pressure, CSI lost their footing and MC secured their win by pushing their payload into CSI's zone. CSI tried to change the tide going into game three, however, MC just would not let up. Unfortunately, MC pushed forward and moved their payload far into CSI's zone to take game three and the series. CSI will look to prepare for their next opponent to secure the win and move above .500 on the season.

Week Two Results: CSI 2, Farmingdale State College 1 (13-11, 7-13, 13-9)
Date / Conference: Thursday, February 24, 2022 – 7:00 PM / East Coast Conference (ECC)
Game Notes:
Best two out of three, 3v3
CSI's Valorant team of Andrew Aquino (Bread), Kyle Collins (7iq), Fadlan Cekainiku (Yedi), Ryan Lu (Miruux) and Erik Davis (c0ld) took care of business, picking up their second win of the season against Farmingdale State College's Green Team, 2-1. After an easy win in week one, week two was much harder as FSC came to play. Game one was tightly contested by both teams, though, CSI got the victory, 13-11 behind Collins (7iq) and Davis (c0ld) 43 kills and 11 assists combined in game one. In game two, CSI was down 11-0, before CSI made a run to close that gap, however, FSC would take game two by a final of 13-7. For game three, CSI took an early lead, though, FSC would fight back and keep the game close. CSI was able to hold on to their lead and win game three, 13-9. Cekainiku (Yedi), Lu (Miruux), and Collins (7iq) would combine for 62 of the total 85 kills in that final game three win.
