GAMEDAY: BASEBALL OPENS SERIES AGAINST MERCY COLLEGE

The Dolphins are in the midst of a four-game losing streak. After three-straight losses against Saint Thomas Aquinas College, the Dolphins have an opportunity to get back on track. They are set for a back-to-back doubleheader against Mercy College three of which count against conference record. The games will begin at 12:00 PM on both Friday (4/1) and Saturday (4/2).

Where:  Friday (Doubleheader) - Dobbs Ferry, NY -- Saturday (Doubleheader) - Staten Island, NY/CSI Baseball Complex

All-Time Series: Mavericks lead series 11-7
Last Meeting: 4/24/21: Game One – Mavericks won 11-4, Game Two – Mavericks won 5-4
 
Players to Watch (CSI): For the Dolphins, Domenick Castiglione leads CSI with a .473 batting average. He has a team-best 26 hits and 19 runs. Shendi Ulaj is leading the team in RBIs with 16 and is batting a third-best, .341. Jake Myers is second in hits (19), runs (16) and batting average (.460). Thomas Marten and Nick Campisi have been stellar in the outfield. They are both tied in catches with 88. Marten is leading with 82 putouts. Nick Cippoletti has tallied a team-high 41 assists. On the pitching mound, Ryan Kehoe has become a key contributor next to John Esposito. Esposito remains a team-best 1.57 in ERA and a 1.00 in WHIP while leading the team with 27 strikeouts. Kehoe is third in strikeouts (13) and has an ERA of 7.27.
 
Players to Watch (MC): For the Spartans, Nolan Giblin has led the team with a batting average of .377 in his 20 games. He leads the team in RBIs (15). Jaden Caballero is leading the team in hits (32), runs (15), and at-bats (86). In the outfield, Ryan Gonzalez is a standout. He leads the team with 120 catches and 113 putouts. Caballero has tallied a team-high 40 assists. The pitching duties have been led by Jonathan Diforio with an ERA of 4.14, and John Archer with an ERA of 4.86. They have combined for 55 strikeouts on the season.
 
News & Notes: These two squads have faced each other 18 times, dating all the way back to 1979. The Dolphins have lost their last four matchups against the Mavericks. Mercy College comes in off of a split with the University of Bridgeport. CSI looks to not only end their four-game skid, but also pick up their first conference victory.
