Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island faced off against the Spartans today in their their third ECC doubleheader of the season. The Dolphins dropped both games against Saint Thomas Aquinas College and are now in the midst of a seven-game losing streak. They fell in game one, 3-1, and lost game two, 9-0. Today's matchup puts the Dolphins at 5-11 (0-3 ECC) on the season, as the opposing Spartans improve to 10-11 (4-0 ECC) overall.

KEY MOMENTS
Game 1
STAC got things started early as they scratched in the top of the first inning. CSI would tally their first hits in the bottom of the third behind singles from both Acosta and Carcano. They would add another hit in the bottom of the fourth behind a Porcaro double to right center. The Spartans put up a solo run in the fifth inning as the Dolphins gave up two hits. STAC took a 2-0 lead. Both teams would go hitless for consecutive innings until Moore singled one up the middle for CSI. The Spartans would extend their lead to 3-0 until CSI finally scored their sole run in the bottom of the seventh. This was set up from a Gallo single and a Kateridge pinch hit that led to a reach on a fielder's choice. It led to an RBI as Gallo scored. CSI went on to lose 3-1.

Game 2
The Spartans would pitch a shutout in this one. In a game where the Dolphins didn't score a run or tally a hit, STAC came out strong once again. They put up four runs in the first inning, a solo run in the second, and four more in the third. The Spartans won the contest 9-0.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
Game 1
CSI tallied one run, five hits, and one error in the game. Anissa Acosta went 1-for-3. Elizabeth Moore would go 1-for-3 as well. Claudia Porcaro went 1-for-3 with a double. Mariah Carcano added a 1-for-3 game. Isabel Gallo was 1-for-3 with a run. Pitchers Kelsey Strayer and Acosta combined for five strikeouts as they gave up a total of nine hits. STAC finished the game with three runs, nine hits, and one error.

Game 2
CSI tallied zero runs, zero hits, and three errors in the game. Carcano, Acosta, Macpherson, Moore, and Kateridge were all 0-for-2 in the game. Pitchers Alexis Miramontes, Kelsey Strayer, and Nicole Rivera combined for four strikeouts. The Spartans finished the contest with nine runs, 12 hits, and one error.

Game 1
The Dolphin of the Game goes to Isabel Gallo. She registered a 1-for-3 performance with one run. She added six catches and six putouts in CSI's loss.

Game 2
The Dolphin of the Game goes to Claudia Porcaro. She was stellar in the outfield with eight catches, seven putouts, and one assist CSI's loss.
