CSI SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST MOLLOY COLLEGE

Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island faced off against the Lions today in their 11th and 12th ECC doubleheader of the season. The Dolphins won both the games against Molloy College. They won game one, 11-3, and came out on top in game two, 2-0. CSI is now on a two-game winning streak. Today's matchup puts the Dolphins at 7-15 (3-9 ECC) on the season, as the opposing Lions improve to 12-17 (6-4 ECC) overall.

KEY MOMENTS
Game 1
The Dolphins came out strong in this one. They tacked on two quick runs in the first inning. This was started by singles to left center from both Kateridge and Acosta, which set up a double from Macpherson. This led to two RBIs as Acosta and Kateridge would score. Molloy would answer with a three-run third inning to take a one-run lead, 3-2. CSI would knot the game at three runs apiece behind a Macpherson single up the middle which led an RBI as Kateridge scored. The Dolphins would add on a sole run in the bottom of the fourth from yet another single to right field from Kateridge. Carcano would pick up the run for CSI. In the bottom of the fifth, singles from both Moore and Gallo would help the Dolphins extend their lead to three, 6-3. CSI kept pouring it on as they tallied five runs in the final inning of play to coast to a 11-3 win.

Game 2
In what was a low scoring affair, CSI would get on the board early. They tacked on a sole run in the bottom of the first. This sequence was sparked by a Kateridge single through the right side. Acosta would fly one out to centerfield and Macpherson would single up the middle. A Moore single to shortstop would lead to an RBI as Kateridge score. The only other run for both teams would come in the bottom of the third from CSI. It came off of a stolen base from Carcano as Macpherson scored on a throw. The Lions would never score, and the Dolphins went on to win 2-0.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
Game 1
CSI tallied 11 runs, 14 hits, and two errors in the game. Anissa Acosta went 2-for-4 with two runs. Jacklyn Kateridge went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI. Samantha Macpherson was 3-for-3 for a double with two runs and three RBIs. Elizabeth Moore would go 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Laila Aponte added a 1-for-4 game with one run and one RBI. Pitchers Kelsey Strayer and Alexis Miramontes only gave up six hits and three runs in a game where they tallied no strikeouts. Molloy finished the contest with three runs, six hits, and two errors.
 
Game 2
CSI tallied two runs, five hits, and four errors in the game. Jacklyn Kateridge went 2-for-3 with one run. Samantha Macpherson would go 1-for-2 with one run. Elizabeth Moore tallied a 1-for-3 game with one RBI. Anissa Acosta would be the sole pitcher for the Dolphins in this one. In seven innings pf play she had two strikeouts. The Lions finished the contest with zero runs, four hits, and one error.

DOLPHIN OF THE GAME
Game 1
The Dolphin of the Game goes to Samantha Macpherson. She was 3-for-3 for a double with two runs and three RBIs. She registered three catches and three assists in CSI's win.

Game 2
The Dolphin of the Game goes to Jacklyn Kateridge. She went 2-for-3 with one run in CSI's victory.
