Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island faced off against the Purple Knights today. The Dolphins lost both games against the University of Bridgeport. They lost game one, 5-3, and dropped game two, 4-3. CSI has now lost four of their last six games. Today's matchup puts the Dolphins at 9-19 (5-13 ECC) on the season, as the opposing Purple Knights improve to 24-11 (12-4 ECC) overall.
KEY MOMENTS
Game 1
Bridgeport would scratch early, as they tacked on a sole run in the top of the second inning. They would add to that by adding three runs in the top of the fourth to take a 4-0 advantage. CSI finally scored in the bottom of the fifth. Acosta singled to right field and Whalen walked. After Carcano struck out, an Acosta single to center field would lead to an RBI as Aponte scored, 4-1. After a quiet sixth inning for both squads, Bridgeport tallied a run in the top of the seventh to extend their lead to four once again. The Dolphins would answer with a two-run bottom of the seventh to close the gap. After walks from both Whalen and Carcano, Acosta flew one out to centerfield. Carcano would advance to third on a wild pitch and Whalen would score. To close the contest, Carcano would too score on a wild pitch. Unfortunately, CSI fell short in this one, 5-3.
Game 2
CSI would break the seal for both teams with a score in the bottom of the third inning. This was sparked by walks from both Katerridge and Acosta. Acosta would advance to second and Katerridge would advance to third on a wild pitch. A Macpherson single to right field would lead to an RBI and Katerridge scored, 1-0. The Purple Knights answered with a score in the top of the fifth to knot the game a one run apiece. CSI would regain the lead in the bottom of the inning behind a Gallo single to shortstop which helped Macpherson score. Bridgeport combined for three scores between the sixth and seventh innings to take a two-run advantage, 4-2. The Dolphins would answer with only one run in the final inning following a Carcano single to shortstop as Acosta scored. CSI fell short, 4-3.

Alexis Miramontes combined for four strikeouts in the game. Rivera picked up the loss (0-2). The Purple Knights finished the contest with five runs, seven hits, and zero errors.
Game 2
CSI tallied three runs, nine hits, and three errors in the game. Jacklyn Katerridge went 1-for-3 with one run. 
Anissa Acosta was 1-for-3 with one run. Samantha Macpherson had a 3-for-4 game with one run and an RBI. Acosta, Katerridge, and Miramontes took on the pitching duties for CSI as they combined for four strikeouts in the contest. The Purple Knights finished the game with four runs, seven hits, and one error.
