CSI SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST FELICIAN UNIVERSITY

Staten Island, NY | The College of Staten Island faced off against the Golden Falcons today. The Dolphins split the games against Felician University. They lost game one, 11-10, but won game two, 9-2. CSI has now lost three of their last five games. Today's matchup puts the Dolphins at 10-20 (5-13 ECC) on the season, as the opposing Golden Falcons improve to 13-16 (8-8 CACC) overall.

KEY MOMENTS
Game 1
CSI got out to a quick start in this one. They combined for five runs in the first two innings of play. It was sparked by a Kateridge single through the left side which was followed by an Acosta double to right center. This led to an RBI as Kateridge scored. Macpherson homered to left field to help the Dolphins take a 2-0 lead. In the top of the second inning, Kateridge singled to left center as Carreon scored. Moore would single to right center which led to an Acosta score and Aponte singled to center field as Macpherson scored. They were up 5-0. CSI would tack on two more runs before the Golden Falcons would finally get on the board with four runs in the bottom of the fourth. In the next inning, a Macpherson home to centerfield would give the Dolphins a 9-4 cushion. Felician University would mount a spirited comeback as they put together seven runs combined throughout the final three innings of play. A sole run in the seventh wouldn't be enough as CSI fell 11-10.
Game 2
The Golden Falcons tacked on a single run to start the game. CSI responded with a four-run second inning to build a three-run advantage. A Carreon walk would lead to a Mochrie score. Following that, Kateridge would double to center field, and she would advance to third as both Gallo and Carcano scored. To close the inning, Acosta reached first on a throwing error by shortstop and Kateridge score. CSI led 4-1. The Dolphins would add on to their lead with three more runs in the top of the fourth. Kateridge advanced to second on a wild pitch as Gallo ran in for the score. Acosta then flied one out to rightfield in a sacrifice fly as Carreon scored. Lastly, a Moore single up the middle would lead to an RBI as Kateridge scored. The Dolphins opened up a 7-1 run advantage. Felician University would only tack one more run and CSI would go on to win comfortably, 9-2.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
Game 1
CSI tallied 10 runs, 14 hits, and four errors in the game. Kateridge went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. Acosta doubled and was 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. Macpherson was 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs. CSI trotted out four pitchers today. Rivera, Miramontes, Strayer and Kateridge combined for no strikeouts in the game as Kateridge picked up the loss (0-1). The Golden Falcons finished the contest with 11 runs, 14 hits, and one error.
Game 2
CSI tallied nine runs, 12 hits, and two errors in the game. Kateridge went 4-for-5 for two doubles with three runs and two RBIs. Gallo was 1-for-2 with two runs. Carreon finished the game with a 1-for-3 performance with a run and an RBI. Anissa Acosta took on the pitching duties for CSI as she only gave up three hits and two runs. She picked up the win (7-6). The Golden Falcons finished the game with two runs, three hits, and one error.

Game 1
The Dolphin of the Game goes to Anissa Acosta. She was 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs. She registered five catches and five putouts in CSI's loss.
Game 2
The Dolphin of the Game goes to Jacklyn Kateridge. She went 4-for-5 for two doubles with three runs and two RBIs. She added seven catches and seven putouts in CSI's victory.
