Sparkill, NY | The College of Staten Island faced off against the Spartans today. The Dolphins dropped both games against Saint Thomas Aquinas College. They lost game one, 3-0, and fell in game two, 10-0. CSI has now lost six of their last eight games. Today's matchup puts the Dolphins at 11-23 (5-15 ECC) on the season, as the opposing Saints improve to 22-18 (15-4 ECC) overall.
KEY MOMENTS
Game 1
In what was a very low scoring affair, the Dolphins would never score in this one. They would tally hits in just the second and seventh innings behind singles from
Avery Mochrie,
Isabel Gallo, and
Victoria Whalen. The Spartans did all of their damage in the bottom of the fourth inning where they tacked on three runs which deemed to be the deciding factor in this contest. STAC would take this one, 3-0.
Game 2
This game would deem to be more of the same for the Dolphins as they would once again not be able to scratch. They would acquire hits in the first and fourth innings behind an Acosta double and a Samantha Macpherson single to center field. The Spartans would tack on six runs in the bottom of the second and add four more in the bottom of the fourth as they coasted to a 10-0 victory.
