Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team will make their home debut this afternoon in a non-conference match when they take on the Bears of Bloomfield College. The seventh all-time meeting between the two sides kicks off at 3:00 PM with both teams looking for their first victory of the season. The Dolphins are unbeaten in the first six matchups with five wins and one tie. The most recent meeting between the two sides came last season in the first game played between the two teams since 1984. The Dolphins scored the golden goal in overtime of that game to earn their first victory of the 2021 season by a final score of 2-1.

The 0-1 Dolphins opened their season on the road with a 6-2 loss to Bloomsburg University in another non-conference matchup this past Saturday. Bloomfield, which comes in 0-0-1, also kicked off their season this past Saturday and played to a scoreless tie on the road against Shepherd University.

Shane Siegel, who scored a pair of goals for the Dolphins last season, added his first assist of 2022 following a strong defensive play in the season opener at Bloomsburg. Steven Adebisi was on the receiving end of that assist for his first goal as a Dolphin. Daniel Angulo, another key returning Dolphin, added a goal on a penalty kick in CSI's first game as well.

For the Bears, sophomore Matiss Zegele returns following a 2021 season where he led the team in goals with four. One of those goals came in the matchup against CSI last season and was the only Bloomfield score in the 2-1 defeat. Fellow sophomore Ajoma Smith registered three goals last year and was tied for third on the team in points with 7.
