GAMEDAY: WOMEN'S SOCCER MAKES 2022 HOME DEBUT VS SNHU

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Women's Soccer Team will take the pitch at Dolphins Soccer Park for the first time this season today when they take on the Penmen of Southern New Hampshire State University at 12:00 PM. The 0-2 Dolphins will be looking for their first win of the season while the 1-0 Penmen will be looking to remain unbeaten through their first two matches of the year. The two sides have met just once before and that game was played last season in a neutral venue as part of the 2021 UB Women's Soccer Classic. The Penmen took the victory in that game by a final score of 4-0 which dropped the Dolphins to 0-2. CSI will be looking to bounce back from an 0-2 start as they did last season when they picked up a 2-1 win in their home-opener against Felician University.

The Dolphins have been held without a goal through their first two matches of the season and have surrendered five total goals during that pair of games. The Penmen have played just one match thus far and it was a 1-0 victory over former Dolphins' ECC rival the University of Bridgeport.

The Dolphins return a large portion of their 2021 roster, specifically on the defensive side of the ball. Last game's starting back line of Danie Duka, Macy Jones-Busch, Angye Galan, and Megan Meagher all returned from last year's team and will look to slow down the SNHU attack that scored four times in last season's meeting. The Dolphins will likely be focusing a great deal of their attention defensively on Alyssa Anderson. Anderson registered a hat trick against CSI last year accounting for three of the four SNHU goals in that game. In the first match of the season for the Penmen on Sunday, Anderson was tied for the team lead in shots with four, and in shots on goal with two.
