Staten Island, NY  - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team will look to make it back-to-back wins this afternoon when they take on Assumption University at 1:00 PM.  The 1-1 Dolphins will get an opportunity to move above the .500 mark for the first time this season and the 1-1 Greyhounds will be looking to avoid a two match losing streak following Friday's defeat against Felician University.  Today's meeting will be the first-ever matchup between the two teams.

The Dolphins were last in action on Wednesday at home against Bloomfield College when they took the victory in their 2022 home-opener by a final score of 1-0.  The Dolphins took a one goal lead in the first half and withstood a great deal of attacking pressure during the closing minutes to hold on for their first win of the season.  The Greyhounds played just two days ago on Friday and fell to Felician University in a 3-0 shutout.

Steven Adebisi has made an immediate impact for the Dolphins this year as he leads the team with a pair of goals in CSI's first two games.  He also had a chance for a third late in Wednesday's matchup with the Bears thanks in large part to a pass from Shane Siegel.  Siegel tallied his first assist of the season in the season-opener and has found himself in the middle of several Dolphins scoring chances.  The CSI defense is anchored by Leandro Angulo who, along with Luis Ascencio Cueva, picked up an assist in Wednesday's game against Bloomfield.  Nicholas Kishenko, Steven Flores and Brian Kerilu have proven to be fixtures in the CSI lineup as well playing all 180 minutes through CSI's first two matches of the season.  In goal, Amari Thompson is coming off of a clean sheet in his last outing as the Dolphins shut out the Bears on Wednesday.

Junior midfielder Johannes Sundgot has accounted for two of the three Assumption goals scored this season finding the back of the net on two of his five shot attempts.  Fellow midfielder Ruben Faria has tallied an assist on all three Greyhound goals as well.  Rounding out an impressive group of Assumption midfielders are Gustaf Vilgot Albert and Daniel Paulsson.  Albert has already attempted seven shots and picked up an assist while Paulson is responsible for the team's third goal.
