GAMEDAY: MEN'S SOCCER FACES CUNY RIVAL QUEENS COLLEGE IN ECC POSTSEASON DEBUT 11/1/2023 10:00:00 AM Flushing, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer will be making their debut in the East Coast Conference Men's Soccer Championship Tournament later tonight as they travel to Flushing for a first round matchup with CUNY rival Queens College. The #6 seed Dolphins earned their spot in the postseason on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Molloy University in their season finale. CSI finished the regular season 4-6-4 overall and 2-3-3 against the East Coast Conference. The #3 seed Knights finished the season 8-7-2 with a 5-3 record in conference play. The Dolphins lead the all-time series against the Knights 7-6, but CSI has not won in each of the last four meetings. Most recently, the Knights held on in the closing minutes for a 2-1 victory over CSI earlier this season. That match, played at Dolphins Soccer Park, saw the Dolphins trailing by two before a late goal made it 2-1. However, CSI could ran out of time in their bid for an equalizing goal and went on to lose by a 2-1 final. Despite the loss, the Dolphins did outshoot the Knight 12-9, but Queens registered 5 shots on goal to CSI's 3. There were also 30 fouls called in a very physical game which saw the two teams combine for 9 yellow cards.
