JJ CHESTNUT EARNS FOURTH EAST COAST CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONOR

Staten Island, NY - It was announced earlier today that JJ Chestnut has received his fourth East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honor of the season. Chestnut, who scored 17 points in regular-season finale against Roberts Wesleyan, did not miss a single shot in the game. He finishes the regular season averaging 9.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.

Saturday's game against Roberts Wesleyan was the only time the Dolphins took the court last week. The win over the Redhawks earned the Dolphins the #5 seed in the ECC playoffs and a matchup with the University of the District of Columbia. Chestnut came off the bench in Saturday's game three minutes into the game and never left the floor again. In 37 minutes, he scored 17 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists.

Chestnut and the Dolphins will depart for Washington D.C. on Tuesday ahead of their matchup with the Firebirds at 8:00 on Wednesday night. The Men's Basketball team will be joined on the road by the Women's Basketball team who also face UDC in the opening round of the conference tournament.
