DOLPHINS FAIL TO PICK UP A WIN ON FINAL DAY AT THE SPRING GAMES

Leesburg, FL – The College of Staten Island Softball Team wrapped up their Florida trip earlier today as they played their seventh and eighth contests at The Spring Games. In their first game of the day, they fell 6-2 against St. Michael's College, and in game two the Dolphins lost to the University of Minnesota Crookston 8-0. With the two losses, the Dolphins end their trip with an overall record of 3-7.

GAME 1 VS SAINT MICHAEL'S COLLEGE
The Dolphins fell behind in the second as the Purple Knights scored three runs in the inning. This chased CSI starter Madison Edwards who was replaced by Anissa Acosta in the circle. The Dolphins got a run back in the third, and Acosta did not allow a run until she left the circle in the fifth. Three runs came home in the inning for the Purple Knights, one on an error and two more on a two-RBI double by CJ Davidson. Trailing by five entering the final inning, the Dolphins were only able to get one run back and took the loss, 6-2.

GAME 2 VS UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA CROOKSTON

A first-inning grand slam put the Golden Eagles ahead to stay, but they would add two runs in the second and two more runs in the fifth. The Dolphins only had two hits in the game, both by Mariah Carcano. For the Dolphins, the two-hit effort marks the third time in four games that the Dolphins have had less than three hits.

The Dolphins returned to Staten Island following the conclusion of today's games and will be back in action on Tuesday. After a doubleheader against Adelphi, the Dolphins will play three more conference doubleheaders before their ECC opener.
