BASEBALL RECEIVES TWO ECC WEEKLY HONORS AHEAD OF PIVOTAL WEEKEND SERIES WITH SPARTANS

4/26/2023 12:00:00 PM

Staten Island, NY - It was announced on Monday that two Dolphins have received weekly accolades from the East Coast Conference after the Dolphins took three out of four games from the Lincoln University Lions last weekend.  AJ Vigliotti was named East Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season and Ryan Kehoe was named East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time.  The announcement comes ahead of a huge series for the Dolphins as they will face the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College in a four-game series this weekend.  The Dolphins are currently in possession of the fourth and final East Coast Conference playoff spot with eight games remaining on their schedule.

Vigliotti made his debut on the ECC Baseball Weekly Report earlier this month as he was named Player of the Week for the first time this season on April 3rd.  Last week, he hit .700 in CSI's four games with an on-base percentage of .800.  Three of his ten hits went for extra bases including a pair of doubles and a home run.  He finished the week with an OPS of 2.000, drew five walks, and scored three runs in the series against Lincoln.

Ryan Kehoe also made his second appearance on the ECC Weekly Report as an award-winner Monday.  Like Vigliotti, Kehoe also received his first conference accolade on April 3rd when he was named Pitcher of the Week.  Kehoe threw his third complete game shutout of the season on Friday against Lincoln to earn his team-leading fifth win of the year.  Against the Lions, Kehoe allowed just four hits and struck out ten as the Dolphins took the win 7-0.

The Dolphins will look to solidify their position in the East Coast Conference playoffs on Friday when they open a four-game series against the Spartans on the road.  Due to weather, Friday's single nine-inning game is now going to be a doubleheader beginning at 11:30 AM.  Weather permitting, the series will then continue on Saturday at the CSI Baseball Complex when the Dolphins will play another doubleheader against the Spartans.  For the complete East Coast Conference Baseball Weekly Report click here.
