Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Indoor Track & Field Team returned to Ocean Breeze again this week as they competed in the 2024 Gotham Cup.  This year's participation marked the fourth time that the Dolphins appeared in the meet, and like last season, it was a strong showing for CSI in the field.  The Dolphins took several top-10 finishes in Throws and also scored another top-10 finish on the track.

The highest finish for the CSI men once again belonged to Vincent Ohenhen who took 10th overall in the 200-Meter Dash with a time of 22.28, a new program record.  Steven Elcock was not far behind as he took 17th with a time of 22.95s.  Adale Lewis and Jamel Reynolds also represented the Dolphins in the 200-Meter and 400-Meter respectively.  In addition, the Dolphins were very well represented in distance events as Ryan Tierney, Ethanael Elliott, Alan Bass, Pedro Astudillo, Matthew Amato, and Shawn Rampadarathsing all competed.  In the field, Dominik Hric placed 18th in the Shot Put as well.

The effort of the CSI women was highlighted by the Throwing unit as three different Dolphins placed in the top ten across the Shot Put and Weight Throw events.  Aryanna Finkelstein took 7th in the Shot Put to lead the Dolphins with a distance of 10.52m.  She was followed by Katherine Marando who posted a distance of 8.19m.  In the Weight Throw both Skylar Pointer and Ava Thompson finished in the top ten.  Pointer achieved a distance of 13.21m while Thompson posted a distance of 12.57m.  Also in the field, Sofia Dulisova took 2nd in the High Jump as as part of a small field with a height of 1.55m.  On the track, three Dolphins competed in both the 400-Meter Dash and 800-Meter Run.  In the 400-Meter Angelina Guerriero, Alexandrea Jackson, and Elizabeth Nicotra all finished within 5 seconds of one another posting times ranging from 2:35 through 2:40.

The Dolphins will wait eight days before their next meet which will take them to Middletown, CT for the Wesleyan Indoor Invite.
