GAMEDAY: MEN'S SOCCER TAKES ON MOLLOY LOOKING TO IGNITE PLAYOFF PUSH

Rockville Centre, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team hits the road for a huge late-season conference match against Molloy University this afternoon as they face the Lions at 4:00 PM. The Dolphins are 2-9-1 on the year and 1-4-1 against the ECC following a loss to D'Youville University on Saturday. The Lions are 2-0-3 against the ECC and 4-5-4 overall following a 2-2 tie against St. Thomas Aquinas over the weekend. Last season in the most recent meeting between the two teams, the Dolphins defeated the Lions 1-0 to clinch a spot in the ECC playoffs. However, Molloy still holds a 2-1 lead in the all-time series behind shutout wins in 2021 and 2022.

The Dolphins face the Lions with their playoff hopes very much hanging in the balance for the second straight season. CSI is currently one point behind D'Youville in the standings with the Saints holding the tiebreaker. The Dolphins are also within two points of STAC and within five points of Molloy. A win would keep the Dolphins alive in the playoff hunt through at least next Wednesday. Pending the results around the rest of the conference this coming weekend, the Dolphins could be playing for a spot in the playoffs when they face UDC one week from Saturday. A loss would only eliminate the Dolphins if both D'Youville and STAC win today's matches.
