DOLPHINS FALL TO GOLDEN FALCONS IN NON-CONFERENCE COMPETITION, PANTHERS IN NE-10 OPENER

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving Team opened conference competition against the NE-10 earlier tonight as they faced Adelphi University at The Tank.  In non-conference competition, the CSI women also faced the Felician University Golden Falcons for the third straight year.  In their meet against the Panthers, the Dolphins suffered two losses against Adelphi, 159-75 in the men's meet and 148-70 in the women's meet.  Against Felician, the CSI women fell 145-60.  The CSI men are now 1-2 on the season and the women are 1-3.  The 1-1 Golden Falcons split their results tonight defeating the Dolphins and losing to Adelphi.  The Adelphi men improve to 2-0 and the Adelphi women are now 1-3.

The Dolphins scored their first individual victory of the meet in the Men's 50 Free when Vlad Siniagovskii took first place by a fraction of second with a time of 22:12.  For the women, Jacqueline DeFranco earned the next first-place point total in 1-Meter Diving. 

Following the break after the completion of Diving, Anthony Attenborough finished one second off the pace in the 100 Fly and took second place.  Siniagovskii earned the Dolphins second-place points once again in the 100 Back finishing less than two seconds behind the first-place pace.  Shortly after, William Kwan earned the Dolphins yet another second-place finish in the 500 Free.

DeFranco and Matt Bernstein swept 3-Meter Diving for the Dolphins, both earning first place.  Jessica Johnson then made it three straight top finishes for the Dolphins in the 100 Breast, their last first-place scoring of the meet.

The Dolphins will return to action against the NE-10 one week from tomorrow when they visit Pace University.  That meet will get underway on Saturday at 5:00 PM.
