GAMEDAY: MEN'S SOCCER FACES NEW HAVEN IN HOME FINALE

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team will host their final home match of the 2024 season today when they take on the University of New Haven at 2:30 PM. The Dolphins are 2-10-1 on the season following a loss to Molloy on Wednesday. The Chargers are 8-3-2 after a tie against Saint Anselm earlier in the week. The two teams have faced each other just once before in a match played in West Haven, CT last season. The Chargers scored the lone goal in that match and defeated the Dolphins, 1-0.

The Dolphins will be playing at home for the last time this season looking to improve upon a 1-4-1 mark at the CSI Outdoor Track & Field Complex. However, they remain alive in the ECC playoff hunt as well, and they will be impacted by several results in the conference this weekend. The path to the playoffs for the Dolphins requires both St. Thomas Aquinas College and UDC to finish the season with less than 7 points in the standings. This requires the Spartans to lose either their game tomorrow against Queens or their conference finale against Mercy. The Dolphins also cannot make the playoffs if the Spartans were to tie in both games. UDC would then need to draw or lose against D'Youville before facing the Dolphins on Wednesday. That game against the Firebirds will be a must-win for the Dolphins.
