GAMEDAY: MEN'S SOCCER FACES QUEENS COLLEGE IN 2023 ECC PLAYOFF REMATCH

Flushing, NY - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team will return to the site of their 2023 East Coast Conference playoff debut tonight when they face the Queens College Knights in a rematch of last year's ECC Championship first-round matchup. The Dolphins enter tonight's game with a record of 2-5-1 on the season and an 1-2-1 mark in conference play. The Knights come in to tonight's game 4-4 overall and are undefeated in conference play at 3-0. Last season, the Knights defeated the Dolphins two separate times to even up the all-time series at 7-7. First, the Knights took the regular season meeting by a final score 2-1 before going on to win the playoff match between the two teams by that same final. The Dolphins were issued a red card to put them down a man in the playoff match, but CSI was able to erase a one-goal deficit on a penalty kick by Miguel Espinosa. The 1-1 score stood until the closing seconds when Queens took the lead for good. The Knights would ultimately go on to win the ECC Championship and have not lost a conference game since October 18, 2023 against St. Thomas Aquinas. Currently occupying the final ECC playoff spot with three conference matches remaining, the Dolphins come in looking to hand Queens their first conference loss in nearly a full calendar year.
