11/18/2024 3:00:00 PM

Staten Island, NY - Jenalyse Alarcon repeated her week one effort with another pair of East Coast Conference weekly accolades earlier today as the senior was named both ECC Co-Player of the Week and ECC Defensive Player of the Week.  Alarcon posted averages of 22.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3 steals per game across two contests during the past seven days.  The Dolphins once again went 1-1 in two games during the second week of the 2024-25 season.  The team fell to Bloomfield College on Wednesday and bounced back with a come-from-behind win against Post University on Saturday.  Also earning his first ECC weekly accolade of the season was Messiah Mallory who was named the Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.  Mallory averaged 14.5 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1.5 blocks this week including a double-double in CSI's win against the University of Bridgeport on Saturday.

Mallory helped lead Men's Basketball to a second 1-1 week as well behind a stellar effort at both ends of the floor.  Offensively he averaged 14.5 points across two games, but it was his defense and rebounding that landed him on the conference's weekly report.  Among his two blocks in Saturday's win over the Purple Knights was a rejection that helped CSI move closer to clinching the victory over Bridgeport.  He also delivered an emphatic dunk in the closing minute to increase the CSI lead to two possessions with just seconds remaining.
