GAMEDAY: MEN'S SOCCER CLOSES SEASON AT UDC WITH PLAYOFF HOPES HANGING IN THE BALANCE

11/2/2024 8:00:00 AM

Washington, DC - The College of Staten Island Men's Soccer Team will hit the road for their final match of the 2024 regular season today as they visit the University of the District of Columbia for a 1:00 PM match.  Entering the final game of the regular season, the Dolphins are 2-11-1 overall with a 1-5-1 record against the ECC.  The Firebirds are 4-7-4 on the year with a 2-4-1 mark against the conference.  Entering today's game, both teams can clinch a playoff spot with a win and some help.  However, the Firebirds have the advantage of possibly being able to clinch a playoff spot with a tie.  A loss or tie would eliminate the Dolphins from playoff contention.  In order to make the playoffs this year, the Dolphins must win against UDC for the first time in program history.  After a 1-0 loss to UDC in 2021, the two teams have played to a tie each of the last two seasons.

The Dolphins and Firebirds are two of four teams looking to clinch an ECC playoff spot on the final day of the regular season.  Check below for all of the possible clinching scenarios entering the season's final day.  All games are available to watch via live stream on the ECC Network, including the Dolphins and Firebirds at the link near the bottom of this preview.
