TRACK & FIELD SETS SEVEN PROGRAM RECORDS AT GOTHAM CUP

Staten Island, NY - The College of Staten Island Indoor Track & Field Team put together another record-setting outing at the Gotham Cup earlier today as the Dolphins set seven new program records.  The CSI men claimed four new records and the women added three more in events spanning both the Track and Field categories.

For the men, Jeremiah Downer set a new program record in the 60 Hurdles for the third straight meet with a time of 9.41s.  This time bested his previous record by over two-tenths of a second.  Wayne Stephenson posted another program record in the 800-Meter Run with a time of 1:59.26, good for 12th in a finals field of 38.  Vincent Ohenhen then added the third men's record in the 200-Meter Dash with a second-place time of 21.85s.  In the 500-Meter Dash, reigning ECC Track Athlete of the Week Ibrahima Diallo set one more program record with a time of 1:06.02, good for 7th in a finals field of 31.  

For the women, Elizabeth Nicotra set a new program record in the 1000-Meter Run with a time of 3:14.24.  In the field, Adonijah Washington set another new record in the Triple Jump with a distance of 11.47, good for 6th in a field of 29.  Finally, the women's 4x400 Relay record was broken by Washington, Alexandrea Jackson, Alexis Doyle and Alexandra Tavarez with a time of 4:21.19.

In addition to the seven new program records, the Dolphins set several more personal bests during today's meet.  First, both Jackson and Camryn Koch achieved their best times in the 400-Meter.  In the same event, both Nicholas Runfola and Chris Vazquez set personal bests for the men.  Washington also added a personal best in the 200-Meter for the women, and Sam Whelan achieved a career-best time in the same event for the men.  Lastly, Kelon Martin achieved a personal best in the Mile, and Ibrahima Diallo posted his best time in the 500-Meter.
