GAMEDAY: WOMEN’S BOWLING CLUB SET TO COMPETE IN EASTERN INTERCOLLEGIATE BOWLING TOURNAMENTS #3 & #4

1/25/2025 8:00:00 AM

Staten Island, NY – The College of Staten Island's Women's Bowling Sports Club team will be competing in their third straight Eastern Intercollegiate Bowling Tournament (EIBT) competitions this weekend. CSI will be sending nine players to each EIBT competition, and three of those nine players are returning for their third year as part of the Women's Bowling Sports Club team.

Starting early this morning, the team will travel to Rab's Country Lanes in Staten Island, NY for EIBT #3, which includes 25 Baker Games. CSI will be up against Long Island University, Molloy University, Monmouth University, and Saint Thomas Aquinas College in the Women's Varsity bracket.

Tomorrow morning, CSI will travel to Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, NJ for EIBT #4.  They are slated to take on Fairleigh Dickinson University, Sacred Heart, and Saint Thomas Aquinas College in their respective Women's Varsity bracket.  EIBT #4 will consist of three team games and 10 Baker Games.

In 2024 CSI won EIBT #4 as a team, and former Dolphins Bowler Emily Wolff earned the top individual score during EIBT #3. In their competition debut in 2023, CSI placed second as a team among the three women's teams competing while former CSI Bowler Jennifer Quiles finished as the top individual performer at EIBT #3.

This weekend the Dolphins will be looking to improve their overall numbers as they have practiced intensively over the last several months. Captains, Zonovia Cardona and Alyssa Bisschoff, both in their third year with the team, look to lead the way working under now second-year Head Coach Jeffery Martin. "We are highly enthusiastic about the girls this year," Martin said.  "Building on the success we achieved on the lanes last year, we are well prepared for the upcoming EIBT competitions."

The CSI Women's Bowling Sports Club is currently welcoming new members to join the team in Fall 2025. Join us to grow with a trained coach and to build camaraderie with fellow bowlers competing within the USBC for the love of the sport.  Those interested, please fill out a Women's Bowling interest form HERE.
